Surprise Surprise Surprise, I'm happy to report :) after a brief call did a quick reprogram and 3G is up and working again, after 7 days, here's to hoping it stays that way. They offered me 50 talk minutes, but I don't talk on the phone much so I opted for 10$ credit.

Nothing as of last tuesday 3G Wise, Was all over brooklyn and manhattan and nothing, gonna try activating again. Good to see someone got their 3g signal back.

There must be something wrong with your service. Was driving between brooklyn, manhattan and queens over the weekend and did not loose data at all. Was streaming pandora and gps on my phone and consumed close to 400mb I. Those 2 days.
 
Well.... Here we go again, starting to sound like regan

I'm in north brooklyn, heard a muffled explosion about 15 minutes ago, in the distance from my apartment, lost connection to my verizon dsl, reset the modem and wifi router, no problem it came back, but at the same time I heard this I lost my 3G connection on my optimus v:eek: Oy vey... Guess I'll call virgin tomorrow morning, I'll use wifi for now. Just thought I'd post this, for those in my area / williamsburg / bushwick. Wondering if something got hit by lightning.

Update: 3G Came back, on its own about 3am give or take 15 minutes. :)

Outage at Anaheim,CA

Recently, there network outage in Anaheim, California.Two of my virgin mobile phone (with different accounts) have no data, only texting work :( Hurry Sprint! go repair the cell tower now!

at 2100 hours tonight the data went out on my optimus phones texting and voice still work. does any one know if this was another planned outage?:'(
 
Ok, this thread has been down for at least 3 weeks now. I've recorded 2 weeks of no 3G. Has anyone gotten theirs back yet? Was there another issue that needed to be resolved(Payment)? Details, details :)
 
Weird!!!

Yeah do any of you know if the 3G black out was nationwide. My phone has been acting really funny these last 5 hours or so.. Maybe my phone is trying too hard to find 3G? It will pull up pages But reeeaaaallll sllooowwww...:eek:
 
Anybody have 3G problems today?

Mine service goes on/off very frequently. Not sure when it started, but it's been like this since this morning.
 
possible fix?

happens to me once or twice a day dont know if this works for everyone but go to ur apps and click on the "Activate" app go thru the steps reboot and i have my internet back! worked for me every time too! my phone was not rooted at the time so dont know if it will affect rooted phones?
 
I had some 3G problems last night and didn't think to post a reply here. Did anybody else have problems last night (May 9th)? I tried the Activation app and it gave me some error code after leaving it on for a few minutes and I googled the error code and it was on VM's end and I was like phew. It's working fine today so no problems here. First time that ever happened to me.

Its unlimited to 2.5GB.
Im sure at some point they will use the same procedure that ATT used to nail the iphone users.
 
3G already out for a couple of days in NJ

After 3 calls to support they have finally admitted that there is, in fact, a 3G outage. No reason given, promised to be fixed in 24-72 hours (but may be as long as 5 days). Also stated that outage is far wider than northern NJ.

Surprised I have not yet seen anything in the press about this. Interested to hear if others are seeing the problem.
 
The 2.5 GB is only for the broadband users, cell phone users get 10GB. If you go over that 10GB, your usage is capped at 256 Kb/sec but it's still unlimited. Unlimited, in this case, means there's no stupid "you can't go here, you can go there" crap like Cricket Wireless pulls.

When I worked for VM as an activations specialist, I had access to logs that detailed every time you made a call, checked your account, used data, and sent text/MMS. VM knows what's going on, they're not stupid. They're just not doing anything about it...yet.
