Keeping or Returning?

I've heard of others downloading PowerAmp.
I'm about to download it as well.
What settings should I set it to?

It's a hardware issue that cannot be fixed with software of firmware update. If you really have this sound problem, you can hear it when you lower the volume all the way while playing a music.

Still testing battery life. If I bought on the 8th at Costco do I have to return tomorrow the 21st or on Thursday the 22nd? I was ready to return but did really well on battery today after making some changes but forgot to keep it out of the car dash mount. It got a couple of boosts today. 70% at 7:00 but it only shows 5 1/2 hours on battery.

I want to keep it, but these are the things I'm deciding if I want to deal with:
Radon reboots, random loss of 3G/4G data signal, headphone hiss, mediocre camera.
The things I like are:
Screen visibility in sunlight, good/descent battery life, extended battery that's not bulky like the extended battery on other phones.

I was tired of the overall bugginess and inconsistent connection. I boxed up the Bionic, walked into the VZ store and the CS Rep said no problem. You can return or exchange it no worries but first can I take a quick look at your Bionic? She promptly said the install was obviously botched by the Telephone Rep I was on the phone with for two hours upon receipt of my Bionic. After a couple of minutes, she handed me the phone and said check it out and let me know if it still seemed buggy. The darn thing was smoothe as silk, faster than I had experienced previously and overall, acted like a different device! I'm cautiously optimistic with one week left before my 14 days are up but as of today---it's a keeper!

I've already reactivated my other phone and will be sending the Bionic back tomorrow.
After random reboots, random loss of data connection, video recorder that keeps refocusing continuously during recording, headphone whine & hiss, and less than stellar camera shots.... I've had enough.
Paying top dollar, I expected more. Battery life was good, and being able to see the screen in sunlight was great. It got to a point where the good was being outweighed by the bad.

I must admit that I plugged in the hdmi cord and started up pandora & my own music library on the kitchen TV tonight, it was cool! Still have a day to decide but this was a check in the plus column. TV speakers are not the best but are better than the phone, will test on the AVR receiver tomorrow.

I've had mine for a week now. I don't know what to say to those of you that have been having all these various issues. I have zero complaints about the phone, hardware or software wise. Smooth as silk, zero lag, headphone jack works fine with no hiss. Only thing I can't speak to is the camera - haven't used it yet, though I have sampled the video camera. Looked good to me. Battery life is more than adequate, I stay on wi-fi exclusively here at home. Love the keyboard way more than I thought I would coming from a physical keyboard. I feel bad for you guys, but as far as I'm concerned it's all good.

I have had most of these issue, most are software issues with very few if any on my phone actually being hardware issues. I figure that Motorola is pretty good about pushing out software or firmware fixes within the first few months of the phones existence... so if you are patient, and reading through this forum I don't think many are... many of the fixes should be fixed in a couple of months.
So, I.E. Keeping the phone... pretty nice besides the minor bugs... but, better than my last 2 phones...:D
Oh, if you're having battery issues... advanced task manager is pretty decent at handling most of those issues and juice defender (free edition) as well.

Returned mine today. Sales guys were nice enough, and didn't ask any questions. (it seems like they've heard it before)

Anyways, I'm going to wait until the Vigor comes out and decide. I almost didn't return the Bionic today, but I figured I could wait until the Vigor comes out and see which one I prefer.

Don't feel bad for me, much happier with an Epic Touch, save for sprint network, can't wait until same Samsung is on Verizon. Zero posts in the forums related to issues as other than the slow sprint network, no issues with Samsung, silky smooth, can produce yellows, speaker doesn't distort at hi volumes, analog audio output has no issues, battery lasts much longer, camera is quick and photos are amazing, boots in in no time,
Bummed that with data connection drops on the bionic still had to pat restocking fee, all those months waiting for the bionic and .... it was enough for me to not wait anymore and get the gsII, if only sprint wasn't so slow, the ET on wimax or wifi is more than I ever expected, hope Verizon gets one soon

Wonder if pointing out known Bionic issues here could I get the restocking fee refunded?

i really really want to return this phone based primarily on battery life (I can deal with the other problems, like the headphone jack problem or the camera). However, since the Prime is "unofficially" coming out in Nov (and who knows - maybe it gets pushed back), I really don't want to have to use my old replacement smartphone for who knows how long. I'll just suck it up and keep this and hope that they release an update that improves the life.
Exactly the same here, so tried go to Epic Touch on sprint and love the phone, no issues, zero except that the sprint network is very slow.
I couldn't see keeping the Bionic for two years yet wanted something now, tried sprint, cannot wait until Verizon gets this phone as will have to use the original Droid until Verizon gets a galaxy two, please I hope they keep it like the epic touch including a very loud speaker (which.after hearing the charge and nexus s , was worried speaker would be weak but for podcasts it isn't as loud as the Droid but better audio in the voice range than the Bionic) .

Verizon teases us with the great network and buggy but fast Bionic or under powered as in thunder and charge newer devices....

ok either y'all are crazy, there's a bad batch of devices running around, or I've got a much higher tolerance for stuff like this. I haven't experienced any freezes, it's blazing fast (blows my Incredible out of the water), speakerphone is just fine, battery life is not great and camera is not great (Incredible cam is better). but... leaning heavily towards keeping mine.

I agree. I was going to wait to buy the Bionic until I read the reviews and I am glad I went ahead and bought on launch as I may not have bought one if I had read all this. I have had no freezes, my data connection is fine, no hiss in my headphones, battery is not great but I usually get through the day just fine, and my display does not bother me at all. I must be a lucky guy :) I love this phone and I am keeping it. The Prime should be an awsome phone also, my only concern was the larger screen size. I think the Bionic is about as big as I want to get for a phone.

Returned mine today. The Verizon reps that dealt with my return were telling me how much they love theirs and have no idea why I would return mine. They also stated that I was one of the only people to return the Bionic for reasons other than DOA. Which I think is probably a load of ****. I'm assuming they work off commission because they tried their hardest to get me to try another one in hopes that mine was defective.

Reasons for return:
1) Camera
2) Static in ear buds
3) Battery Life (Extended Battery makes it look like a brick)
4) Nexus Prime

The screen never really bothered me so I won't included that as a reason for return.

They probably get less returns than you think, the majority of phone buyers don't post on sites like this or have the same set of standards.

Keeping mine. Bought two on launch day and have had zero problems. Audio out is very good. My wife and I both love our bionics.

Definitely keeping, it I honestly tried to return it lmao, but since I bought it full price and out of contract I couldn't. So I made myself use it and now I love it. I know have a mini hdmi cable and an OtterBox casing for it. I also have an extra battery, but I don't use it.

Wow. There's no return policy for buying phones outright?
