Keeping or Returning?

ok. Made a final decision on the Bionic after beating on it for nine days and I am keeping the phone. Its amazingly fast and the extended battery is giving me 15 hours for my regular usage. I have been using the Verizon mobile hotspot and 4G speeds are pretty solid. I think my negative is currently the camera, but hopefully a software update can correct the shutter speed/focus issue. Pentile screen looks good and its lower power draw is helping my battery life. Viewing the screen outside is solid with this screen.

I still need to find a decent shell for the extended battery cover profile but this is a solid offering from Motorola. I like the functional design and can't wait to see what the dev community does with this one. If it ever were to get unlocked this thing would be a true beast.

Haven't decided for sure, but leaning towards keeping - have to decide by the 22nd, I guess. The screen doesn't bother me, but the colors are seriously off, try looking at something that is supposed to be yellow. i do love being able to see Google Maps in my Convertible with the top down! I haven't tried it yet, but I wonder if transferring photos to view on the computer helps with concerns about the camera, which is just okay - for a phone at the this price level, they should/could have done better.

My battery life has been quite schizophrenic, some days it seems fairly decent, way better than the Thundebolt, and others it's horrible. I mentioned in a different thread that leaving BT on, despite not being connected seemed to be a real battery killer, and that still holds true for me. Today, I've used the phone moderately - 6 hours on battery, at 50% still, - I like to check display up time as that tells me how much I actually was using the phone and that is showing 2 hrs 30 mns, so not too bad.

It is by far the fastest Android device I've ever used, rarely, if ever seeing any kind of slowdown, and this is huge deal IMO.

So for the most part I like it, but I am really interested in Sprint's new Epic Touch 4G as well - I know the 4G isn't very comparable, but having used the Infuse for a while, my old eyes really appreciate the lower rez- larger size screen. I'm thinking the Epic will give me the speed of the Bionic with the screen of the Infuse, and I can live with slower 4G speeds --seriously, I really don't need by phone to offer DL speeds faster than my DSL. :D

The last point is why I'm really considering returning it, but otherwise, it would be a keeper for me for sure.

I've decided on the vigorincrediblehd. The bionics great, and using it without a case today made me appreciate motorolas great build and attention to detail, but I'm just not feeling it. Glad to hear that many of you are though! It's a great phone and I can see why you guys are very happy with it.

Same here--I love the Bionic. It is powerful, it is sexy. But in a time when screen tech is making big jumps and is one of the most noticed things about any device, and is the one thing you are always dealing with while handling it, the screen on the Bionic is just a total letdown. Inaccurate colors, pixelation. Idk why they chose that screen. But it is enough that I am going to keep it until the Vigor comes out (since there isn't anything I'd like more on the market for Verizon right now) and get that instead.

I'm also returning it. I like the screen in the sunlight but other than that I'm not impressed with the dullness of it. After a week of using it the pixelation in day to say usage doesn't bother me too much. However, watching video on HBO go or Netflix is so non-fluid that I can't get through it. I could live with the screen if battery life were acceptable. But, this leads me to reason #2. If the phone sits in my pocket all day then the battery life is acceptable. But having a phone that can be awesome, yet stays in my pocket, isn't worth $300 up front and ~$100 a month. Other things like the camera (admittedly I haven't tried another app, but the blur app is horrendous) and blur itself drive me crazy. I know it will be rommed sooner than later but I'll hold out hope for ICS on the Prime. And if not, My DroidX with Apex 2.0 was perfectly fine for me so that can hold me over no problem until a solid LTE Android phone does show up.

I like the Bionic and will keep it. Is it perfect? Of course not, no phone/computer is perfect. They did fix a few bugs from the DroidX but I would have liked to keep the camera button on the side...whatever, the camera is still slow. The screen is easier to see in the sunlight so I'm ok with it. I wanted the Galaxy s2 but when Verizon didn't get it I opted for the Bionic - knowing the screen was a pentile version.
I like it overall and will keep it at least until the next big thing comes out!!!

Definitely keeping. Ive never found a phone that is "perfect", but does that really even exist?

I've finally decided to keep mine for now. It's a good phone, and with a couple bug fixes will be a great phone. I have an NE2 on a second line, so I'll use that for either the Prime or Vigor and switch the phones around.

I sent back my first Bionic last week and got another one to be sure that I made the right decision.

Yes, I made the right decision to send the second one back and go back to my Iphone. The battey life was not bad for a 4G phone. 4G in itself is a bit sketchy and the speedtests should not be used for real life comparisons. Example, my Iphone right after I do a speedtest and it gets just under 1 mbps, I will load up my full version of CNN and watch how fast it loads. It loads in about 3 seconds.
With the 4G Bionic, after doing a speed test of 28 mbps, the same site loads in about 2 seconds. Basically the real tests should be done with real life experience, not speed tests. When 4G is working well, it loads very fast but the overall experience is hit and miss. I live in a full 4G area.

I really do believe that if the next Iphone is 4G, Android will certainly take a big hit. The Bionic software is very glitchy on both phones that I had. Sometimes it wouldn't rotate, the browser would close without me doing anything. In a nutshell, the phone was wayyyyyyyyy overhyped and released a bit late. Like others, I will wait for more stable 4G devices. For 300 bills, it's not worth the costs of gaining very little speed in everyday life using data.

Keeping mine! Absolutely no bugs, no lags, no problems rotating screen or pixillation or anything.

Battery life is awesome. The phone is lightning fast. The screen is gorgeous and I can read my kindle app outside in the sun.

Who can ask for anything more?

I can't return mine because I bought the thunderbolt and took that back (that's what the rep told me), but I do like the Bionic but I'm having second thoughts and considering the Droid Prime or whatever it will be called when it's comes out.

This phone is working out pretty good for me so far. Great battery life, good screen visibility in sunlight, fast processor, good size for the extended battery. I was thinking on waiting to see what the Vigor and Prime will be like, but I'm content so far. Just like anything else, the Vigor and Prime will also be outdone by future devices. Since I have the Bionic now, I will be 2 months closer to being able to upgrade to the next best thing in 2013.

Still keeping mine, the only issue so far is the headphone whine. My Sennheisers handled that.

Keeping.

Havent listened for the whine (ipod). I have to look for pixels... i may or may not need my eyes checked. Love the call volume, the speed, and the size (especially with the otterbox defender - i like my phone beefy i guess). I had a thunderbolt before. Much happier now.

The camera does kind of suck, but vignette fixes that. If i look for it, i can see pixels. I also really wish i had unlimited data (verizon newb here).

Very happy with it.

Keeping mine, 100% satisfied.

I wasn't sure about the whole headphone hissing issue but after downloading PowerAmp and tweaking the sound settings I get none of that anymore.

The camera is no Cannon Eos Rebel but it works in a pinch. When I want to take serious pics at a function I'll use the wife's Cannon, when I'm running around and see something cool I want to take a pic of to share with family and friends...I'll use the phone.

I am sure a software update will fix some of the little bugs. I have owned 3 Motorola droids, and Motorola would always patch release bugs. IMO, the Bionic is pretty dang bug-less for a first gen LTE release. Is it just me or is the call quality on the phone really good?

Ditto herre. I have terrible reception at my house (in the canyons of So Cal) and I am amazed at how much better this phone sounds compared to my Droid X. I have not had dropped calls inside the house anymore so I KNOW it's picking up more signal than my previous phones.

Wish Verizon would strengthen the signal on our street but until they put in new antennas, I am happy to have a more powerful phone...

Wow, that's way way better than I'm getting, and I'm not exactly a heavy user. What battery settings are you using, and I see you are using JuiceDefender - what settings for that? I'm getting maybe 12 hrs max on mine. Not rooted...
