Re: [KERNEL][GB/CM7] GingerKernel v05.1 (OC)

Fwiw the screen was jumpy on my wife's phone when I flashed the kernel on top of grom, reflashed the ROM and that same jumpiness went away...i thought she just had a problem with the over clock.

Although if you have time you may want to check out the lazy governor, I'm using it on my nexus and I've finally ended my love affair with on demand

Yeah, it only seems to happen when you flash it on top of a prior kernel. Very strange.

Hate to be a bearer of bad news, but I just had it happen 3 times in optirom, each time I changed governors and speeds and rebooted, but it still happened, even with ondemand and stock speeds.

I'm moving to a nexus next week (couldn't pass up a free upgrade), but I'll be passing this phone on to my wife, and likely will be going back to zvd and reborn until either the geniuses here fix sprint's problems, or sprint finally gets around to it :) (#1 option seems more likely to me)

Strange... Its not happened once on my ROM v2.0 with the kernel cooked in at 748.

It seems to only be affecting some people at random times. I don't think it's ROM specific as I haven't had any screen sensitivity (aka false double tap) issues at all on Opti-ROM 1.1.

Interesting. I flashed gROM 1.2 yesterday and then this kernel and am having to battle double taps. Sounds like some peeoople are having bbetter outcomes if they flash the ROM over it. Maybe I'll give that a try.

If I understand, the latest gROM has the kernel already built into it, you shouldn't have to flash the kernel?

I had a little hiccup when first flashed and went to setcpu to set gov. The screen flickered several times and then was off center. I rebooted and is now working fine. Even smartass2 and overclocked at 748 Max 340 min. Nice work!! I was having issues with the last build.

Re: [KERNEL][GB/CM7] GingerKernel v06 (OC)

I can no longer use Google's My Tracks GPS tracker and I'm not sure if it's the kernel or my SetCPU governor settings. I've tried smartassv2, interactivex, and ondemand. Maybe 245 is too low to power gps when the screen is off. Do I just need to raise the minimum or is there another way to go about this? What happens is the tracker appears to only work for short periods after I turn the screen off, leaving a dotted line where there should be a solid line.

Re: [KERNEL][GB/CM7] GingerKernel v06 (OC)

i'm getting massive screen glitches with 6, going back to 5.1

Re: [KERNEL][GB/CM7] GingerKernel v06 (OC)

grom 2.0 ondemand and 768 overclock that all ran fine before with 5.1 and in reborn. the screen would fritz out and then become off-centered with 6. back running 5.1 and all is well again.

I noticed drew took v6 down at some point. I amcstill running it on stock rom, and downloaded wifi tether v3.1-beta6 and getting errors and no use from with it. Didnt know if it was because of the kernal or not.

Re: [KERNEL][GB/CM7] GingerKernel v06 (OC)

Made some changes just now that (hopefully) will fix this issue. Expect a fixed kernel build to be released some time today.

Wow, so I am not crazy with the screen issue!

Great work as always Drew! This kernel pwns all else hard!

Why couldn't LG have just done it this way, lol

Re: [KERNEL][GB/CM7] GingerKernel v06.1 (OC)

[NOTE]GingerKernel v06.1 Bugfix Release:
GingerKernel v06.1 has been released, which fixes the garbled screen issue that was experienced by several users in v06. I've been running v06.1 at 748MHz OC with InteractiveX governor and haven't had any screen issues outside of the random double tap nonsense.
