Re: [KERNEL][GB/CM7] GingerKernel v05.1 (OC)

I just flashed this on gROM and there's no smarass governor. Did I miss that being removed?

I am running stock zvh rooted with this kernal. Downloaded setcpu and set at 748/480 and now i have the touch sensitivity issue, though i didnt have it before. Is this a known issue with this? I did skim thru prior posts and didnt see anything. Any idea of a fix ? Or should i just go back to stock kernal or does xioniaredux wwork with zvh stock?

Sensitivity issue is a ZVH issue. People have reported that overclocking intensifies the issue... which seems like what you're saying.

Xioniaredux only works with zvd radio!

using this kernel while playing zenonia 3 if I just tap and hold the screeen I lose about 10 fps if I let go the speed comes back... wtf

Yeah i knew it was a zvh issue, but didnt have any issue before flashing this kernal. No big deal. I missed that it was intesified with this kernal. I will try a different gov and see if that helps.

Does any one know if there is a way to manually adjust the sensetivity?

Re: [KERNEL][GB/CM7] GingerKernel v05.1 (OC)

Just want to clarify. It's intensified with overclocking. Not necessarily this particular kernel.
I don't know of a way to adjust sensitivity. Are you running at 600mhz, stock speed?

Re: [KERNEL][GB/CM7] GingerKernel v05.1 (OC)

I downloaded this and put it on my phone this morning, just now tried to take a photo but my camera screen is completely white, but if I hit the button to take the picture it takes the picture like normal..just my screen doesn't show it. What should I do? :-[:-[:-[

(btw I'm on CM7 still)

748max 480min. I switched to interactivex gov and it seem much better. Atleast for me that seems a good fix. It was like when smartass2 was fluxing my cpu up and down it was hiccuping the touch interface. As i type this i am having no issue at all.

Good to hear. Everyone's phone will be a little different so its always best to see what works for you. With Opti-ROM I have better experience with smartass2 overclocked. :)

I do plan to switch over to that soon. Just wanted to get a feel for stock first

Is anyone running this kernel with cm7 having issues playing videos?

Re: [KERNEL][GB/CM7] GingerKernel v05.1 (OC)

Can u use both, setcpu profile an collin tweek?

I thought if you did the collin tweek and then used setcpu, setcpu would override collin and pretty much nullify collin tweek. I thought you had to use one or the other!

Re: [KERNEL][GB/CM7] GingerKernel v05.1 (OC)

After using this kernel for the last 24 hours I have to say its the best job I have seen on this device! I had it clocked to 806MHZ and had no issues at all. I was blowing up quadrant scores.

I liked it so much I included it my latest ROM. It rocks!

Now, I did notice something very odd. Maybe drew can tell me why I saw this....

But...

When I flashed the kernel over the stock kernel I had a weird issue with the screen. It would become a little jumpy. Sorta like what people were talking about but a little different. In my case I saw the screen go off center for about 2 MS and then return. Then when I went to diff app it would do it again. But it eventually stopped after a reboot. But I did not test much again after that.

Now... When I cooked the kernel into the ROM... I had absolutely no issues whatsoever. None. It was solid, no jumpiness, no sensitivity issue, nothing at all. That is with a default clock speed set to 748MHZ on boot per echo command to max_freq_speed (or whatever it is, im tired).

So I would have to conclude that what I saw (and maybe others with the screen sensitivity) is being caused by using this kernel as an upgrade to a prior kernel. When cooked into the ROM its absolutely flawless. Perfection! Couldn't be any happier.

Drew, what do you think of these observations? I am dreaming this or could there be a correlation to the install method and the issues people are seeing?

Re: [KERNEL][GB/CM7] GingerKernel v05.1 (OC)

Fwiw the screen was jumpy on my wife's phone when I flashed the kernel on top of grom, reflashed the ROM and that same jumpiness went away...i thought she just had a problem with the over clock.

Although if you have time you may want to check out the lazy governor, I'm using it on my nexus and I've finally ended my love affair with on demand
