Re: [KERNEL][GB/CM7] GingerKernel v04 (OC)

The kernel is defaulted at 806. It is just a stroke of luck to actually make it to the unlock screen on first boot, download setcpu and slow it down to 787. Phone cannot handle 806.

thats not true due to the fact than when i was able to start it up after rebooting many times i downloaded set cpu and its set at 600... and min is around 400 (cant remember min) but i had to actually change it manually if i wanted it higher but thats what it was set at right away at intial first boot.. but when i underclock it and restart it, it doesnt start up and is stuck at boot loop again

Well, thats what I saw. Im sure there are other problems too. gRom and OptiRom are both choppy and do not scroll nicely, even oc'ed like my other optimus that is on non gb roms with no update. Dont know what to do. Revert?

Re: [KERNEL][GB/CM7] GingerKernel v04 (OC)

. During the time it is stuck at the lg screen adb.is saying waiting for device and it does not change so i dont know whats going on i let it sit for a few mins i made a mistake at my previouse post i wasnt doing it while it loaded
And i know the drivers are installed and adb is working cuz in recovery i can adb and run the command you gave scott.

Hmmm... Yeah, if you its just sitting there Android is not initializing. I would start fresh. Take ROM of choice and do fresh install. Then take kernel and reinstall.

I think they scrool good. Both of them. Not sure. I played with this kernel yesterday and it was very smooth and responsive on gROM 1.2. What ver of gROM are you one?

Cm7 is still nice? Glad I didn't downgrade from all of the noise I've been hearing.

SAME!! everything works wonders with it but i would like to overclock it and use the features that it has... when i use a stock kernal i feel like there really isnt anything special... :/

Re: [KERNEL][GB/CM7] GingerKernel v05.1 (OC)

[INFO]GingerKernel v05.1 Release:

We're skipping v05 because 5.1 is just that much better:

  1. Smartass2 and InteractiveX governors
  2. EXT4 filesystem support!
  3. jhash2 -> jhash3 patch
  4. CFLAGS mod for (hopefully) slight performance gains
  5. Reverse LG hijacking of release version string
Hit up the first post to download!

Pardon my noobiness but do you plan on integrating the Colin battery tweak?

That can be flashed after installing a ROM. The ROM will need to include one of drew's kernels. Currently my ROM includes this kernel and the kernel can probably be flashed to other ROMs with no problems. Then you would just flash the Colin battery tweak file and follow the instructions in the colin thread to be sure it's running. If you have issues with a particular ROM, please report compatibility issues in that thread. :)

Re: [KERNEL][GB/CM7] GingerKernel v05.1 (OC)

Oh i know that. I have it installed right now actually, it just won't startup on reboot, i manually turn it on everytime. I was curious if there was a way to have it turn on after a reboot or does that have to be done by the dev?

What ROM are you running?

I think this version is definitely a winner. Working really well on cm7. Only problem is videos are not playing.
