Keyboard difference with Tab S4.

On my Note 4, the on screen keyboard has a microphone key in the lower left. I like it.

I use it for voice to text.

On the Tab S4, the microphone key is in the top row, where auto correct suggestions are. I don't like that placement.

Also, the microphone key disappears mid sentence. So I can only use voice to text at the start of a new sentence.

How can I make the keyboard on the Tab S4 like the Note 4?

Both devices say I am using a Samsung keyboard.

Yeah that's do to note 4 older software , pretty much all of them in top now

Thanks.

Sigh.

I wouldn't mind it, but having the microphone button only be available at the start of the sentence, is disappointing.

On the Note 4, having that dedicated button in the lower left, means that I can use it mid sentence to finish my thought.

I will also see then if there's a 3rd party keyboard that has the button in a the lower left location.

I tried Microsoft's SwiftKey Keyboard a few months ago. I liked how it auto suggests / completes emoticons.

But, the lack of the microphone button in the lower left, where I liked it, was more important to me. So I went back to the Samsung keyboard.

Hopefully I can find a 3rd part keyboard which both auto suggests and completes emoticons, AND has the microphone key in the lower left.

I activated SwiftKey again. I do see a microphone button in the lower left, but as a shift key or something.

I am not sure how to access it with one press.

I did see that I could click on the 3 dots in the top row, and then click Voice Typing.

But that requires 2 presses.

I haven't switched keyboards on my Tab S4 tablet yet.

I want to get used to the new keyboard on my phone first. Once I'm comfortable, then I'll change so both devices use the same keyboard.

Right now, I seem to be making a lot more typos with SwiftKey, and I'm not sure why, yet.

I realized why I was making so many typos.

I had changed the setting for the long press duration, to a small amount of time.

This means that I wouldn't have to long press as long, for long press to activate.

However, doing that meant that when I'd attempt to type a normal keyboard letter, the long press on that would get activated and start typing in symbols.

So I changed the long press duration time to something higher again.

It's better now.
