New SII owner here. I have managed to connect to my phone from my computer (Macbook) using Kies Air over WiFi but it seems really intermittent. After a few seconds of idle, when the phone screen turns off, the browser on the Mac will say that the server http://192.168.0.xxx:8080/ is not available... and if I refresh, it does not reconnect. My browser will suggest restarting the server, so I turn Kies off and on on the SII, but still no luck. Then after a few tries it will connect - sometimes have to use a different browser (Safari instead of Firefox) or clear the browser cache but sometimes even this doesn't work. It just doesn't seem dependable. :(

Is this common behavior? Any tips? My WiFi signal strength on the phone is not the greatest, often just 1 or 2 bars. Could this be the issue?
Thanks!

The wifi strength could be a problem. Kies Air has a good idea, but the functionality just really isn't that great. Even when I have full wifi on both my laptop and phone it is still incredibly slow/laggy so I haven't really used it much. IMO it's a lot easier and more efficient to just plug the phone in with the usb cable and mount your phone to transfer files.

I had a similar experience with kies and I hate it. I use Airdroid all the time. It is better than kies in every way.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I'll try using it when the WiFi signal is better and check out Airdroid.
