I have a Kindle Fire and downloaded some books from The Guttenburg Project.
They have generic Icons with a Blue thing that looks like a cellphone with 3 large
buttons accross the bottom. No title and no name on the icon. They show up this way
in the carousel and in the Docs folder. Docs folder shows 7-9 letters at the bottom but
not enough to Identify the books content. I have a lot of editing software "Adobe" is there a
way to create art work for the cover of these books and how do I get it attached to the
specific file? Thanks for any answers.

rap1833,

The Kindle Fire uses an older format from the Pocket PC/Palm Pilot days called Mobipocket. You can modify the files, add art work, and if you are creative enough, you can even create a table of contents and the like. As long as the files are not DRM protected.

Here is a helpful link: How to Convert Ebooks to Kindle With Calibre | eHow.com

I have used this software in the past and found it quite easy to use.
