Kindle won't work on S8 (unlocked version)

Hi all, my Kindle App won't work anymore. I clicked on it and most books wouldn't show up. I cleared cache and that didn't help, so I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and now nothing shows up. If I click on library it says "you have no items that match the selected filters" even though I'm looking at all and not downloaded. Any idea what I can do to get it working again? thanks.

Are you certain you're logged in with the correct Amazon account? Are you able to log out and then log back in again?
