Kit Kat 4.4 installed on my Verizon Moto X

I still have both messaging and hangouts and the old calendar icon. Seems the new version of quick office took over for the old one though

Sideloaded the Nexus 5 Google Wallet APK and got it to show up under Tap & Pay. Going to try it soon at Hy-Vee!

It seems that music widgets no longer work with Android 4.4 Kit Kat on my Moto X. Anybody else having this issue?

I've tried both Google Play Music and Pandora, I don't get a widget on my lockscreen when listening to either app.

I've rebooted, tried the default launcher (I use Nova launcher), tried force stopping the app... nothing works. Any ideas on how to fix this??

u have to enable it in settings. lockscreen widget is disabled by default in Kitkat.

go to settings-->security-->enable lock screen widget

I've noticed a little lag when I swipe down from the unlock on-screen button to opening the launcher, maybe because I have GEL not stock?

Nope not ur luncher. I have the ota and from the active notification unlock I get a few seconds of black screen b4 my home screen comes up.

This whole update is laggy and makes apps run funny. This update ruined the performance of the phone. They better fix it soon.

1- lag when unlocking from active notification.

2- hangouts really lags

3- wallet lags forever when reopening.

4- Facebook messenger not loading right.

5 - just really slow and weird.

You might want to do a factory reset.

I was thinking about it. I will try when I get the time to mess with it and set everything back up.

And he a hangouts was very slow but the last update was pretty good before this kit Kat update.

Definitely do a reset. There's nothing laggy at all about the update for me.

Those who reset on a regular basis, what's your process of backing up/restoring call logs + sms?

Runs perfect here. No lag. Granted I just got the phone, it downloaded as soon as I turned it on for the first time. Did a factory reset as soon the update finished.

So do we know if the "GEL" will make it's way to the Moto X? TBH, I'm a fan of the larger, beautiful icons on the Nexus 5; now the X icons look small and silly.

from what i am hearing the gel is inside the google search app v3.1.8 which was passed out through the playstore, it is just a matter of time for google to activate it on all devices.

Only bug I found is when I receive a text and go to swipe up on the screen to view it, the screen will stay black until I tap the screen again. It only happens intermittently but enough to be annoying.

Scrolling in most Google products (Google+, Photos, People) is laggy/jittery since the update.
I tried resettting, and before any apps even reinstalled, I verified it's still the case.
Plus now, Google Calendar is hosed. I'm back to AOSP as my only option.

SMS backup brought messages back to the phone, but the wouldn't show in hangouts, either.
I think I was better off before I reset
