Koush's 2.1 Rom

Yeah, 1.0.2 is the most stable. I ran cm 5.0.4.1 for a day and it rebooted constantly and ran hot @ 800. I went back to Koush 1.0.2 and themed with HexFusion and this thing rocks @ 800mhz.

I have automatic brightness enabled also. There is a Spareparts app installed that lets you change a bunch of internal settings and brightness is in there. (mine has two versions installed for some reason and one has more options).

Try 5.04.2 .1 had jit

my over all issues with Koush's rom (i have a list haha)
1- speed. as sombody has already mentions, yes it is speedier as a whole but sometimes it takes a few seconds when you get out of a app or process and go to the home screen. it wouldnt bother me that much but it takes a while for it to catch up after that. this isnt all the time but more than i would like
2- the battery drain seems to kill my battery in half the time. i was fully charged at like 8 am today but by like 4 pm i was at like 20%. this was a little more than average use but still it should not take 8 hours to bring me down to 20% when i was usually at like 60% by that time with average use.
3- some apps arent 100% functional and sometimes just close randomly (ex. smart keyboard, google maps, handcent (just a few that i have noticed)). I dont know if this is an issue with the apps or the rom or my phone.

dont get me wrong, this rom is really amazing and to have the new launcher that is fully functional and the bottom dock for shortcuts. the live wallpapers. when the speed is good it is REALLY GOOD. more or less it is the little things that just add up that are making me consider trying out a diff rom.

is anybody having the same issues?

What version are you on?
5.0.4.1?
Settings> About Phone>Mod Version
I was fully charged at 6Am and now (1:44PM) I am at 80%.

5.0.4.2.

i dont know if it is somthing im doing wrong but i see how you and Bizz love this rom and you even said that if there are bugs you usually ditch the rom but i just dont get why my phone is lagging and it is killing my battery over time.

im really trying to like this rom but the key word is "trying". hell im even at 1000 over clocked haha.

I too am a bit puzzled. My battery usage is nowhere near that.
Under battery usage what are the percentages?

i just checked but it charging right now so it doesnt have any of the info. but it does have 1 thing there. it is saying the tempmonitor is using 85% which is kind of strange. i couldn't see an app using that much. is that normal?

Nope.
That is pretty high.
When you pull it off the charger it will reset.
Give it about 1-2 hours and check again (without connecting to a charger).
I used to get battery drain using screebl "the battery saving app", yeah right.

I'll take a stab .. #1. I found an option when using Launcher2, on the home screen, hit menu, configure - there is an option to always keep the launcher in memory or something like that. Try this. I didn't really get to test this option out since with 5.0.4.1 was rebooting every 5 min and I uninstalled.

#2. There are some tips to fix this issue >

#3. Can't help yet .. need to install 5.0.4.2 .. but I'm currently really happy with CM 1.0.2 Koush.

i forgot to mention i have been using a live wallpaper. the nexus one. maybe that is an issue with the battery but im not sure. are all of you using a static or live wallpaper?

I'm using a static desktop...live wallpapers are fancy eye candy, that have to have an impact on the battery, even though your phone is probably in standby mode a great amount of the time.

Live Wallpaper here

haha there goes that idea...

DA after you installed the rom did you do anything different or set anything differently then in stock of the rom. i want to keep this rom but just make it stable. when it is stable (60% of the time) it is fast but aside from that idk?

Screen time out is set to 15 seconds.
Automatic brightness is checked.
That is about it.

ok now this is ridiculous. i have taken off the live wallpapers which seems to have helped speed where it is consistant. i can deal without the LW but anyway here is what i am coming across now. here are my battery stats fro the last 45 minutes:
tempmonitor lite: 73%
screebl lite: 12%
cell standby: 8%
phone idle:7%
display: 2%

everything looks alright except the tempmonitor. is that a normal percentage for the app or is it higher than usual???

i have tried looking for an alternative but i dont know if there is somthing out that could replace the app. any ideas?

Looks like Temp Monitor is eating battery.
What does that do? Guessing it monitors battery temp right?
If so, why not use set cpu? That also shows the battery temp. on a widget.

just saw on droid fourms their seems to be kernels with higher clock speeds that are compatible with koushs rom

I would get rid of tempmonitor lite for sure, set cpu works great. I'm using live wallpaper and having very good battery life compared to other roms.

Yeah P3's kernels.
He pulled them from his page. They also make the lowest setting 400.
That is just too high.
