If there is something easier than placing a .zip on the root of your SD and click 3 buttons in an app I would be amazed haha.

I guess i didnt look too closeley at the method then :p im still pretty new with rooting. I assume the app your talking about is roothelper pro?

prolly referring to Rom Manager...though I haven't had any luck getting the download to work lately. I've been downloading straight from the website. then using the app to flash. he was having issues with mirrors and bandwidth apparently. DA6 can prolly enlighten us on the true happenings...i hope 5.0.5 drops this weekend!!! ^_^

Cyanogenmod For Droid V5.0.4.2 (03/12/2010) - CyanogenMod Forum

Update on 5.0.5 here
Looks like Cyanogen is dropping the final version tonight. Which means we could have 5.0.5 as soon as tomorrow morning.
Koush has to recompile and set it up for us.

As far as the link goes. The app checks your SD card. If you already have the ROM it will load it from there.
The way around this is to delete the "cloclworkmod" folder from your SD cards root.
It will allow you to redownload the Rom. It's a pretty smart app. It knows that it already has the needed files and it won't redownload the Rom.

ii think his rom manager app seems pretty useful but idk, i paid for Droid Root Pro and it isnt even that hard to load his rom that way. maybe im the only one who will continue to do it this way but it's not that hard either way.

i use them both if im using koushs rom i use rom manager if i use others i use droid root pro but i stell use droid root pro to change boot animations etc

Ok question about battery temperature .......I've been running Koush's Rom for about 2 days now.

I'm OC'd to 800 MHZ.

Yesterday, I drove for about 45 minutes using Google Maps GPS to get where I needed to go.

I had about 2 calls come in while I was driving, so for a few minutes of the 45 I had two things going on at once.

I checked Set CPU when I arrived, and my temp was showing at 104 degrees F. I could feel the heat coming thru the case that I have over my Droid. Is this cause for concern? At what temp should I start worrying?

that temp when i drive i usually set my cpu as close to stock as i can becouse those programs willl heat up a phone thats not overclocked

104 is nothing to get alarmed about, but as mentioned, you can use SetCPU to throttle back to 600Mhz or stock if you know you will be using Google Navigation. Worst case scenario is running Navigation while overclocked and on the charger.

Cyanogen is on test 3. He wanted to release last night but found a few bugs.
Hopefully sometime today. Koush, has to wait on Cyanogens version out of courtesy.;)

Does anyone else seem to have the issue where Launcher2 will lost all it's icons and widgets for about 15 seconds every once and a while?

yea, i did especially if it was allowed to rotate. if i turned rotation off it wasn't too bad. i installed helix launcher and now use it for my home screen. it has about all the same features as Launcher2 except the app drawer is not the 2.1 style, but you can have upto 7 screens and double tap the screen to get screen previews.
