L33L sunset not allowing me to add/sync yahoo mail account

[AC Question]

I have been trying for days and it will not recognize my Yahoo email account; it keeps saying doesn't recognize ID

Or should I add yahoo mail to the screen, I really need the sync though

I can find no way to add to my Question on this forum.

I received an email from Yahoo on my PC:

Your account is currently not enabled to sign in from apps, that do not meet modern security standards (ex. Older versions of mail and calendar apps such as Outlook). As a result, we prevented a sign in to your Yahoo account

We strongly recommend that you switch to Yahoo's apps such as Yahoo Mail on desktop and mobile and remove your account from all other less secure apps.
If you still want to use an app that uses less secure sign in, go to https://login.yahoo.com/account/security#other-apps and turn on "Allow apps that use less secure sign in". Oddly, I did download the APP before I tried to log in.
The L33L is a couple years old; I do not have this issue with my IPad air 1

Welcome to Android Central. Are you sure that you are not entering any spaces in the email address? This can also happen if there is a space after the last character of the address and you try to save it.

Thank you, Yes, I have tried many times.
The Yahoo message which I posted here indicates I need to "loosen" the security on my account.
Strange because I don't have this issue with my iPad Air 1
