help!!! i tried to click on the unlagfixme.bat and it said complete in the prompt, restarted the phone and then after the verizon logo pops up, goes completely black. i can't even recognize the phone and i can't power it on past that.

can someone please help??

UPDATE

so it ended up bricking the phone. i couldn't get passed the splash page. i even tried rebooting and setting it back to factory reset in recovery mode. once i did that, i got an error that it couldn't load touchwiz it would give me the force close prompt on repeat. i couldn't click it fast enough for it to stop popping up. after that i decided it was time to take it back. luckily i'm still in the 30 day window and i got a brand new replacement. as of now the new phone is rooted, but i'm seriously debating if to put the lagfix on it. i didn't see much of an improvement and i'm not sure if it's worth having that happen again.

I had the same issue. I ran the unlagfixme.bat, it said to allow root access on the phone. I waited, and the phone never asked for root access. The LP went in to a force close loop. Pulled the battery, restarted, stuck at the Verizon splash screen.

I just did a clockwork nandroid backup. I'm trying to do a restore. I hope it works.

So, how do you remove the lag fix? It appears I'm not the only one who has problems. Do I need to mount the SD card? Sprinkle it with Holy water? Wait for a new ROM? Assuming I didn't brick the phone, of course.

Were either of you running RyanZA's One Click Lag Fix or a different method? I'm wondering if the "undo" option in OCLF is going to make my phone go boom.

Very leery of this now also, crap. I rooted my phone today using the Mac method. I then downloaded RyanZa's app from the Market and ran the lag fix v+1. I'm now benching 2292 which is nuts but, for future use I sure hope I dont run into problems.

So I'm assuming people are getting rid of one click lag fix in order to do the clockwork mod. Does anyone know what works of the following in terms of CWM and the nandroid backup?

1. clicking "undo" within the app

2. un installing via the market

3. Doing the unlagfixme.bat via the computer

The problems ive read about have been using the last approach, I think.

I used the one click lag fix. It didn't interfere with installing clockwork, in fact I'm glad it didn't. Having a backup was very helpful.

The problem seems to be with renaming the boot animation. The lag fix adds a command to the stock animation to run the lag fix partition when you start the phone. Some one on another forum thinks it is related to how we rooted our phones, as a lot of people have removed the lag fix with no problems.

If I get time, I might run the lag fix again, and try to streamline the process of replacing the needed file with the stock one from the system dump, which is how I got mine to un-install.

OK, so as far as your experience goes one can do CWM and a nandroid backup without uninstalling the one click lag fix, correct?

Regarding the boot animation, what does that mean in practical terms? Problems with OTAs? Problems with flashing custom ROMs in the future? Or just problems with uninstalling OCLF?

You just uninstalled because it wasn't doing much and taking up a lot of room?

I am not getting the popup. i have run three times. busybox 1.17.1 is installed, phone is rooted, superuser popup allow(ed) says completed. whats next?

My fascinate is in the mail so pardon the newbishness. What is the point of lagfix other than boosted quadrant scores and less memory?

my phone made words......

I installed Clockwork and did a backup with the one click lag fix installed. I tried to remove the lag fix with the unlag fix batch from my computer.
One of the steps the lag fix installer does is rename the playlogos1 file, which I believe calls the boot animation, and installs it's own playlogos1 which runs the actual linux.ex2 lag fix program on startup. I was getting hung on the un install when it tried to replace it's file with the original. So it didn't replace the modified file, and when I restarted the phone it tried to run the linux.ex2 file, which was already removed. So the phone froze. I replaced the modified file with one from the system dump before I rebooted my phone, and now it works normally.

I removed it to get the memory back, as the only affect I noticed was increased Quadrant scores. And when we get new Roms, it won't be needed. They should include the real fix for the lag problem.

If you try to remove the lag fix, and get an error with the 'mv: overwrite '/system/bin/playlogos1'?' or something with playlogosnow, download the Fascinate system dump, unzip it, put playlogos1 on to your SD card, delete playlogos1 from system/bin, and move the new playlogos1 to system/bin. With any luck the uninstall program already removed the rest of the files, and your phone is back to normal. If not, go back to stock with the Odin fix, or flash the stock nandroid backup posted on XDA if you have clockwork installed.

Or you could leave it installed, and not worry about it. It didn't seem to hurt anything, I just like messing with my phone.

I just opened OCLF and there is an option for "restore boot animation - this will restore your playlogos1 file."

Interesting...?

I did this awhile ago, but never posted it..
Makes my Droid X friends envious.

The program is called Quadrant and can be found in the market.
The program to take the screenshot is called Drocap. You need root to use it.
Hopefully that answered your question.

thanks, yes I did the root & lag fix, works great...

Hi,

decided to take the plunge and root. It went easy. wifi tether works. I'm now trying to figure out how to do the "lag fix". I tried installing busybox and cant seem to get it to install. Also need to know what you mean by "shell" . My guess is that it is some kind of command prompt type program? Please Help!

Thanx

I removed the lagfix and I only see a very minor difference in performance so I'm going to keep it off.

I noticed that while I had the lagfix installed, my cache cleaner would tell me there is no cache to clean...ever. now once I removed the lagfix my cache cleaner works. This happened with more than one cleaner. Anybody know why this would happen?

sorry to ask the more experienenced ppl

Can someone email me a step by step process so that I do not mess anythin up. I appoligize for asking, but I am getting my phone tomorrow and do not want to do anything to compromise it. Thank you very much and thank you for the Thread.

Right away when you get the phone run the update that was just pushed out by Verizon and Samsung. Then do the following using the tutorials already provided.

1. Root your Phone
2. Installed The Clockwork Mod Recovery
3. Make a Backup or your current State
4. Download One Click Lag Fix and Busybox Installer from the Market. Install them Both
5. Run the Busybox Installer App.
6. Run One Click Lag fix app.
a.Click Install Run EXT2 Tools
b.Click OneClickLagFix V1+ (Phone will reboot)
7. Reboot into recovery yourself and make a new backup.
8. Enjoy your lightning quick Samsung Fascinate.
