So, what is the proper procedure to factory Reset a Fascinate that has been upgraded to Dl30? Nothing I do works.

I flashed to DL30 early this morning with some trepidation. I had rooted when we had DI01, had lost it in the OTA to DL09, and had never bothered to re-root or use any other ROMS, so I was a little worried how things would turn out.

Turns out, I had nothing to worry about! I rooted using my old one click 'rage' method, with a few tweaks. I was worried about those who said that the SD would be unmountable, but it worked just fine on my Vista laptop. I installed Red CWM via Odin and flashed the DL30 ROM.

It works fantastic! My phone feels twice as fast as it did yesterday.

My notes:
- I did not wipe prior to flashing, though I did do a Titanium backup first.
- All of my regular widgets did not function after the flash, I had to delete and re-add them to my homescreens in LauncherProPlus. Oddly, the one LPP widget I used reloaded just fine.
- GPS did not work at first boot - it wouldn't lock on at all. After a reboot it's working great, though.
- One thing I noticed that hadn't been mentioned in the findings is that the pattern lock screen now works in landscape mode, not sticking to portrait as it had in the 2.1 builds. Very happy to see that, finally.

Overall, I couldn't be happier! I plan on de-bloating as I get to using it. Thanks Cory & everyone else who's posted their experience!

-Cliff

You may want to. I'm starting to hear more and more troubles with the update for people who used CWM red. I myself was one of them. For anyone that already has the old cwm green, they won't have to do anything in Odin. Just put the new cwm and dl30 zips on their SD card. Flash new cwm, reboot recovery, go back to cwm (now new) and install dl30.zip there.
.

No dice. I flash the green you posted (successfully) but it boots into stock blue instead of green.

For those that are interested in getting the stock e-mail working I suggest downloading the aosp_email.zip in the qouted area and installing it. It is working for me just fine. After installing, I deleted my existing account and then add it again. E-mail has been working fine ever since. FYI, my email comes through AOL. Not sure if this works with an exchange server but I beleive it is supposed to.

OK, do I install this the same way as the DL 30?

Well, I just did it, so lets see if I broke something.

IT WORKED!!!!! YOU ARE THE MAN!!!! IF I COULD KISS YOU I WOULD!!! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:):):):):):):):):):)

Okay, so I have to update my previous post. Whenever I try to open an email, it says that it's unable to open it saying "Message too long". This happens on every single email I try to open. What gives?? I'm not using an exchanging account, just a POP account. Gonna try flashing to stock email like mentioned above.

DL30, yes. But I'm trying to flash CWR green first so I can apply it.

yeah i did it 3 times last night trying to replicate the radio problem...

Section 2. For use in DJ05/DL09 only

The Following files are to be downloaded and put on the root of your SD card

Used to enter CWM Recovery
Update.zip

Kernel download
DJ05_DL09_kernel.zip

Download and apply the Odin package of Clockworkmod recovery:
http://adrynalyne.us/files/odin/CWMRecovery_DJ05_DL09.tar.md5

Now once you have flashed odin and you have downloaded everything and put the last to files to the base of your SD card.

These steps must be done on first boot into clockwork recovery, if not done you may have trouble booting into Clockwork recovery again after reboot so please follow the directions otherwise you will need to start the process over, it is suggested after flashing Odin CWM file that you immediatly boot into recovery and start this process

Reboot into recovery>VOL up+VOL dwn+ power, you will see the samsung logo cycle twice, on the second time let go

this will take you into Recovery , using the vol down button scroll to apply sdcard:update.zip, use the home button to select.

this will take you into a green recovery screen which is clockwork recovery.

From here using the vol keys scroll to install zip from SD card , use the power or back button to select.

FLASH NEW CWM

Apply sdcard:update.zip

YOU CAN NOW FLASH DL30,,,, YOU DONT NEED TO FLASH THE KERNEL BECAUSE DL30 SUPPLIES ITS OWN

Maybe I'm missing something, but after flashing the new ROM I don't see any bookmarks in the default browser. I can add new ones, but there isn't an option for viewing them. I don't have the menu option to see the "bookmarks, most visited, history" page like I had before. Anyone having this? Am I just not looking in the right place.

Since, no one responding previously, I'm going to quote and try again. Anyone?

I'd add to reboot recovery and apply update.zip again between steps to make sure you're in the new cwm before flashing DL30.

Thanks man. Do you have a quick link to DL09?

DL09.tar.md5

Since, no one responding previously, I'm going to quote and try again. Anyone?

Press the bookmarks button on the top to the right of the search bar.

Good catch killah,,,,,,

If you are unable to boot into green from blue here are the possible problems

- you did not use the update.zip that i have supplied on your SD card

- you did not immediatly boot into recovery after flashing with odin

This requires you to flash odin with your battery, after flash is done hold down volume keys insert battery and hit power , wait for the second samsung flash then let go and apply update.zip

i noticed after the update,

every action on the phone makes my wallpaper to zoom in and out?
my wallpaper is just one of my photo.

anyone else noticed this and is there any way to fix this?

It just sounded familiar for some reason. I haven't been over there for over a year, so I'm probably thinking of someone else :)

Do I need to update post #1 with either of these files?

Gotcha. I'm not going to worry about it. At the rate I go through keyboards, it's probably not worth the effort haha

Not here. Did you use post 1 to get to Froyo or some other process?

Everything you do?

Yes. I followed your first post instruction to the letter. The first time I did it, I got Force Close Error so I went back to installing DL09 then rooting and installing Froyo. I also did factory reset before installing DL30.
