ok, we download green cwm to the sd card. we then power down phone, remove battery, plug it back in to the computer and start odin with cwmrecovery_DJO5_DLO9.tar. we followed all the steps but when we disconnect and power up the phone, the menu is in blue and the update zip fails...

Ok if you look a couple posts back I give instructions...in that post I put a upfate.zip download that also goes on your sd card

we have also tried that to the same results. are we putting cwm in the wrong place by putting it on the phone sd card then not being able to access it? If you know what im talking about because we dont.

Everything you do?

yea every action in my homescreen makes the wallpaper to zoom in and out. only when its a wallpaper from my gallery tho..

Plus when i first updated to D30 i had problems with gqllery. it just kept force closing. restart made it fine tho. but it just seems ridiculously and abnormally? fast. haha

Thank you!!

Reflash cwm with odin..battery out ..after its done hold vol keys reinsert battery and holds power till samsung flashes twice then let go

When you flash cwm you must immediatly replace the kernel before regular booting or you won't be able to enter clockwork again without using odin...we haven't discussed that here
Cause when you flash DL30 it does this

It sounds like, from what I understand, you don't have the update.zip file on your SD card. CWM Recovery is 2 parts. The md5 file you flash with Odin, and the update.zip file you place on the root directory (not in any folders) of your SD card.

Good thinkin on the video reference X. Cory and I are testing a new set of instructions that should be a little simpler for everyone to follow. I'll PM ya.

guys i did a video on this here
http://forum.androidcentral.com/ver...video-samsung-fascinate-video-how-thread.html
just replace the Kernel and su+busy box instructions with the DL30zip,,since this will replace the kernel and is already rooted...... wipe cache and data before applying it though

Use that video as a reference and follow these instructions
--------------------------------------------------------------------------[/B]
Section 2. For use in DJ05/DL09 only

The Following files are to be downloaded and put on the root of your SD card

Used to enter CWM Recovery
Update.zip

NEW CLOCKWORK DOWNLOAD

LEAKED FROYO DOWNLOAD

Download and apply the Odin package of Clockworkmod recovery:
http://adrynalyne.us/files/odin/CWMRecovery_DJ05_DL09.tar.md5

Now once you have flashed odin and you have downloaded everything and put the last to files to the base of your SD card.

These steps must be done on first boot into clockwork recovery, if not done you may have trouble booting into Clockwork recovery again after reboot so please follow the directions otherwise you will need to start the process over, it is suggested after flashing Odin CWM file that you immediatly boot into recovery and start this process

Reboot into recovery>VOL up+VOL dwn+ power, you will see the samsung logo cycle twice, on the second time let go

this will take you into Recovery , using the vol down button scroll to apply sdcard:update.zip, use the home button to select.

this will take you into a green recovery screen which is clockwork recovery.

From here using the vol keys scroll to install zip from SD card , use the power or back button to select.

FLASH NEW CWM

Apply sdcard:update.zip

YOU CAN NOW FLASH DL30,,,, YOU DONT NEED TO FLASH THE KERNEL BECAUSE DL30 SUPPLIES ITS OWN

Give me the instructions and ill work on the videos tonight after work hopefully i can get it done by the morning

So we are using this link and we pass in odin, step 19---- we get blue and a fail in tne update zip... what are we doing wrong????

I would stay away from the green right now. I spoke to Adrynalyne (he is our source on CWR) and here's what he said when I asked him if I should change the procedure from red to green. This is what he had to say:

Honestly I would keep linking red. The updated clockwork cannot be used until froyo is installed.

And I'm telling you guys/gals, if you follow the post 1 procedure step by step, you will have Froyo when you are finished and that is the goal of this thread.

So, if you want green when you are finished, then proceed, but do not try to modify post 1 until it's updated.

Everything went off without a hitch.. I had some other issues to tend to before going all Froyo on this beyotch though lol.

Thanks for the awesome thread Cory.

i'm not sure if this was mentioned.. but in my stock browser, when i hit the capacitive search button, it still routes me to bing... i thought this was to be google now, no?

That's in the browser app itself. The change to Google applies to using the normal/voice search function. If you want a Google browser as well... XDA
