Finally Upgraded to Froyo

Many thanks to those that helped. It took a while but I finally landed Froyo this morning.

I'm not going to go through over 100 pages of posts, so I'll just ask - Is there a Mac-compatible option for the flash?

Only if you already have CWM Recovery flashed on your phone. From there you can download and copy the new_cwm.zip and DL30.zip to your sd card. Boot into CWM, install the new cwm.zip, reboot recovery, apply update.zip to get back to CWM, and install DL30.zip.

Yes. I followed your first post instruction to the letter. The first time I did it, I got Force Close Error so I went back to installing DL09 then rooting and installing Froyo. I also did factory reset before installing DL30.

you do not need to root after DL09 ..... from clockwork, wipe data/factory rest
wipe cache partition

go to advanced , then wipe dalvik cache

choose from sdcard apply new cwm.zip

after its done

apply sdcard:update.zip

then apply DL30

Leave the DL30.zip named as is and put the update.zip for green CWM on the root of the SD card. When you boot into blue recovery, choose apply update.zip and it will take you to green, then install dl30 from there.

Would I have to start from the beginning? I flashed my fascinate DL09 with Odin. Is that how I should be doing it or just install the rom manager and follow your instruction above?

Then you're good to go. Just copy the new cwm and dl30 zips to your sd card, boot into cwm, install new cwm, reboot recovery, install dl30.

Download and put this on your SD card
NEW CLOCKWORK DOWNLOAD

after its on your sd card , boot into green clockwork, and flash it the way you flashed DL30

then select apply sdcard:update.zip
then wipe data/cache
then flash DL30 again
yes this will wipe the phone and reapply DL30 , hopefully working without error

Doing EXACTLY as I said won't erase anything, but you should at least wipe cache partition before installing DL30.zip. If you want to go from a fresh start, wipe data also.

Yeah we even exceeded this thread @534 posts, which is pretty amazing considering how many issues that update had when it went out OTA. We have a little ways to go in page views though since that one is at 102,459 haha

Press the bookmarks button on the top to the right of the search bar.

Maybe I'm missing something, but after flashing the new ROM I don't see any bookmarks in the default browser. I can add new ones, but there isn't an option for viewing them. I don't have the menu option to see the "bookmarks, most visited, history" page like I had before. Anyone having this? Am I just not looking in the right place.

Next to the address bar is the default browser is a Square with a Star in it. Click on that and it will take you to the bookmarks. I don't see a menu item to get to the bookmarks.

save this to the same place you saved the dl30.zip and flash them both one right after the other during the same recovery session. That's how I did it and have had no problems since. I have flashed two versions of Adrynalyne's super clean and the accompanying patches flawlessly through the new green cwm.

So we are using this link and we pass in odin, step 19---- we get blue and a fail in tne update zip... what are we doing wrong????
