thank you so much!! =]
and 1 more question..sorry
should i try installing green cwd instead of red this time or should i just install red?
thank you!
Sure , let me write you up some directions and get you the downloads,,,,ill edit this post in a couple mins
The Following files are to be downloaded and put on the root of your SD card
NEW CLOCKWORK DOWNLOAD
LEAKED FROYO DOWNLOAD
Download and apply the Odin package of Clockworkmod recovery:
http://adrynalyne.us/files/odin/CWMRecovery_DJ05_DL09.tar.md5
Now once you have flashed odin and you have downloaded everything and put the last to files to the base of your SD card.
These steps must be done on first boot into clockwork recovery,DO NOT BOOT UP YOUR PHONE REGULAR AFTER FLASHING ODIN, YOU MUST BOOT IMMEDIATLY INTO RECOVERY , if not done you may have trouble booting into Clockwork recovery again after reboot so please follow the directions otherwise you will need to start the process over, it is suggested after flashing Odin CWM file that you immediatly boot into recovery and start this process
Reboot into recovery>VOL up+VOL dwn+ power, you will see the samsung logo cycle twice, on the second time let go
this will take you into Recovery , using the vol down button scroll to apply sdcard:update.zip, use the home button to select.
this will take you into a green recovery screen which is clockwork recovery.
From here using the vol keys scroll to install zip from SD card , use the power or back button to select.
FLASH NEW CWM FILE
then again
Apply sdcard:update.zip
wipe data/wipe cache partition
YOU CAN NOW FLASH DL30
so i was looking to do this tonight possibly, but was wondering if i should get it rooted first so i could backup my phone and stuff then try to flash it w/ froyo? or just go straight with this writeup. I am unrooted btw
hmm..i flashed odin and booted into recovery mode right away.
i can scroll through menus with volume rocker but when i click
apply sdcard:update.zip with power button, nothing happens

when i pressed apply sdcard:update.zip,
it said no file or such directory is found.
and i have both D30.zip and new_cwm.zip in the base of my sd card.
arnent those two the only things that i need? ><
sorry for being such a newbie!!

You have to actually choose apply zip from SD card and manually select the DL30.zip file. If you choose just apply sdcard:update.zip, it's going to specifically look for a file "update.zip" on the root of your SD card.
dude droidxcon you are a machine. so do your root first, then do the froyo root?
oh man im sorry i left a part out, ok ill edit in and then try again...give me a minute
finally finished with everything!
my phone is good as new again hehe
THANK YOU SO MUCH for your help!! =]
