Yes just don't flash su+busybox.zip since you are already rooted

I dont know what im doing wrong. I tried applying the update.zip (which is the renamed file from my other post) all i get is the white triangle with yellow ! and the android guy. Do i need a different update.zip?

it says:

e:failed to verify whole-file signature
e:signature verification failed
installation aborted.

maybe i should just wait til i get home to do it properly...

Okay so, here's my findings:

  • Notification bar is now solid black
  • Added "Mobile data" and "Auto Rotation" quick icons to notification bar
  • Haptic feedback is significantly weaker
  • UI changes, added fonts, darker menu's
  • Samsung Keypad is now included
  • GOOGLE IS INCLUDED!!!
  • Significantly less bloatware
  • Root is retained
  • Desk cradle app is slightly modified
  • Other minor UI changes
  • Overall seems to be speedier, transitions much smoother
  • Battery icon doesn't display device is charging when it's still showing full (bug?)

I'll add more as I find more.

That method is only going to work if you're flashing from red CWM. Sounds like you're doing that in the stock blue recovery. Either flash red, or put your old update .zip back, boot into green CWM (which is what your old update.zip was) and install DL30.zip there.

I had that same thing happen earlier. I had to pull the battery and push CWMrecovery.tar through Odin. Then I just followed the steps again and it seemed to work. Not sure if you'd need Odin, but that's what I used since I kept getting that error.

I have never used Clockwork recovery before so i'm not sure if i am installing it right. I guess I'll just be patient and wait til i get home and do the steps in the first post.

You have to flash with Odin first, then with ROM Manager

Im sorry guys i dont want to ge flamed, but i have not had time to look everything over, and im at work so i need you guys to help me help you lol....

quickly glancing over this i saw mention of NEW CWM is this what im using in my posts or is there a newer one.... sorry but im at work and i cant look over all the posts...

Hello, I did everything to the "T" according to Cory's instructions. After I installed the DL30.zip it rebooted, but now it won't get past the Samsung splash screen. I waited for 5 minutes and tried to restart...same thing.

Any ideas?

I used the directions from HOW TO: Install DL30 (aka Froyo) - xda-developers and actually started from a stock refreshed D101 install. Probably a bit too excessive, but it worked to have no errors.

Has anyone figured out how to remove the default bookmarks again? There is less bloat overall, but somehow they wised up to the history deletion method and now we're stuck with undeletable bookmarks again...

I had to go into Apps and select on TWLauncher and "Clear Data". This seemed to work.

I'm getting the same error with the twlauncher. Mine is really bad though. It occurs as soon as the phone boots up and it keeps happening. It's a force close loop. Here is a list of the only things that work: I can use the notification bar with all 5 options, Sleep mode works, holding the power button down brings up the list of options including "power off," and that's it. I have tried holding the home button but it freezes up so fast it doesn't let me bring up the task manager. I cannot view my list of applications and so I cannot switch over to ADW launcher. The phone is useless at the moment. I have tried wiping the cache and clearing the data but that did not make any difference. Anyone else having this problem and have you found a solution?

This needs to be added in the first post. There is a new CWM for froyo here http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11670464/new_cwm.zip.

You lose your current 2.1 CWM when you flash the froyo rom. In order to keep CWM (while on froyo) you need to do this:

When you're on DL09 and in CWM, wipe like regular, install the froyo rom, BUT STOP DON'T REBOOT YET. flash the NEW FROYO new_cwm.zip listed above, then reboot and you will have CWM with froyo.

Here ya go X.

EDIT: And instructions from XDA which also covers the new CWM HERE.

That happened to me when I removed TW. Try rebooting.

I apologize if this has been answered in the past. But given the froyo leak, for those who have it installed, does the fascinate still report 325mb of ram?

Computer now sees my phone as an external cd drive. Now what?

*edit*
Now I have access to my drive, ANNND it has a cd rom listed. weird.
