i just did the mod my phone was one that force closed all the time but thanks to your instructions i got it fixed thanks for you providing the build.

I did most of the above and the Fascinate worked fine, (I didn't do a Factory Reset before the procedure).

Still all worked well with the exception of Email. It would not find the Emails.

So, I called Verizon Wireless and they had me do a Factory Reset. However, when it booted back up, the Cell Phone in an Adroid Voice told me that it could not find the Partition.

I was using Odin3.v1 to Reset the Partition, but during this Time was handed off to a Samsung representative who advised me to unplug the Cell Phone and after doing Volume Down, Volume Up, Power On got a picture depicting a Cell Phone talking to a Computer... but that is as far it got.

He advised me to take it to Verizon Wireless and have them Flash my Phone. What do you suggest?

Anyone else notice that when you take a picture, it now shows the location where you took the picture at? New feature of the camera firmware possibly? I haven't been able to find an option to enable/disable this yet.

did you try reflashing with odin,,,, can you get into download mode, remove the battery , plug in , hold the vol down key for 5 to 10 seconds, and then the big yellow triangle pops up


if that did not work,un plug, try holding the vol down key , then plugging your phone in again while still holding vol down

if that did not work , try both of those step with battery in the phone. also try different USB ports

you need to kind of jumpstart the phone with the right voltage,,,,,if you can not get into download mode then yeah let them replace your phone

in the future you should try not to pull unplug during an odin flash.

please make sure you are using the ports in the back of the computer aswell

Ok, that was incredibly easy! To anyone who is on the fence, just follow the direction and it goes very smoothly. The hardest part was making my finger hit that "reset" button to wipe the phone before I did it. Now I just need to get everything reinstalled on my phone

I noticed when installing Red it mentions "lagfix" something or another. Does this mean I now have the lagfix installed? If so how do I uninstall if need be?

Oh and I can't turn the dang keyboard sounds off. That's the first annoying thing I've noticed in this update.

go into volume under settings and turn down System Volume. Or you can turn off audible selection and tones if you don't care about tones in the dialer

Thanks. Found that finally. I liked the dial tones, but I would get rid of them to get rid of the keyboard tones

"So the current iterations of cwm seem to have trouble working reliably with the newer froyo ROMs, and koush's recovery (although seeming to work correctly) is quite broken. So......

please find below a new recovery package that should work for any ROM for the fascinate, mesmerize, or showcase.

This recovery is used via fakeflash, ie: it flashes a stock 2e recovery that uses test-keys, allowing you to flash test-key signed update.zips. After installing the recovery, flash update.zip from the stock recovery to get to cwm. The recovery is red, just like the voodoo versions of cwm, but it WILL NOT work with a voodoo installation (yet).

cwm_froyo.zip can be flashed via any cwm recovery, and will place the new update.zip on sdcard for you.

if you are using odin or heimdall, then use the cwm_froyo-odin package. Unzip it, place update.zip on /sdcard, and flash cwm_froyo.tar via odin or heimdall."
