I'm trying to leave Verizon but I'm on the edge program. So I know Sprint and T-mobile will purchase out my contract. Is it even worth it? Verizon is becoming too expensive for my taste. I'm all about saving money where ever I can.

I'm going to look into T-mobile right now as we speak.

I have Verizon Edge and my total bill is only $91.00. You guys are paying less for unlimited service with a reliable connection?

You want to be depressed ? I'm paying $10 less then you and I've got unlimited on Verizon . Grandfathered plan .:p

That's the thing I don't have unlimited. I pay $225 and I have two edge lines

This is what I did as well. Very happy with T-Mobile. On Verizon I had 2 lines, one with unlimited data and no voice minutes and the other with 2gigs of data, monthly total was around $160. I have two lines on T-Mobile with unlimited data and monthly total is $100 (plus equipment installation plan)

I spoke with a Verizon rep. In order for me to leave them, I have to pay for the remaining balance of both my phones plus ETF. This is a sad day in America for me lol. Smh...

I feel ripped off because S5 was supposed to come with free dropbox storage up to 50 GB. Unless you're on verizon.

Crazy. At and t and Verizon are the most expensive we know that. But T-Mobile or sprint I personally think you're playing with fire. Spotty and unreliable unless they are hardcore in you're area. They are in mine but spotty. Good luck.

I stay with VZW because of the service reliability.... it is always there.

Yes, VZW and AT&T are expensive carriers, but they can be negotiated with at times.

Just last Thursday, I wanted to replace the wife's old LG flip phone with a Samsung S4 mini which they offered to me at 99 cents.

umm, since I'm not sure how much "smartphone" the wife will understand, I thought that 99 cents is affordable.

right up until I went to confirm the transaction. Then there appeared a $30 upgrade fee.... end of story, I got off the internet and dialed up 611 and asked for a supervisor.

20 minutes later, I got a $30 credit to my account because I'm a 20 year veteran of VZW and they want to keep me. Did I mention that I threatened to just move all of my accounts over to T-Mobile ????

I closed out the deal for 99 cents..... but, upgrading to a smart phone did add $10/month to the monthly charges for her line. oh well, guess she is worth it

AZ is right, you can always negoiate. I found out about a secret offer with AT&T just a few days ago. So I called them up, told them I was thinking about leaving for Sprint and got 20gb of data for the price of my 10gb plan ($118 a month with my employee discount included). If I were you, I'd make sure T-Mobile has good coverage in your area before thinking about switching though. Sprint and T-Mobile are cheaper, but you get what you pay for.

Well I have to admit they do have great service. I've been with Verizon for about 9 years now. I try and negotiate with them see if they can do something.

A important issue is where you live. The more rural you get, the more likely that Verizon will give you better connectivity. In a major urban area that is not such a big issue.

I'd LOVE to leave Verizon, but everyone I know with Sprint or T-Mobile around here has sketchy service - and this is a major metro area. I have to imagine it's even worse out in the country. Just what I need is to get hit by a car while on my bike and not be able to call 9-1-1

Thankfully it was .99 cents because if the phone was $1 you may have had to reconsider. ;)

Luckily, in Baltimore, T-Mobile coverage is virtually flawless. in fact, I get reception in areas now that were dead zones when I had Verizon. My house, for example.
