We have many battery threads now, I think its helpful for people to get a general idea of its "average SOT" before making further assessments and establishing expectations.
sorry for the long list, please make 2 selections (if possible)
1. your network and SOT
2. your standby performance
I'm not entirely certain, but I do use WiFi almost all the time. If I'm not home, and can't get the Xfinity (via Comcast) signal - which is Very Rare. I never leave my mobile data and WiFi on at the same time/together, cuz that slaughters battery life.) So really No point at all in doing that, unless someone sends me an MMS, like a pic (mostly chicks lol), or if the other guitarist, (or my drummer - who just had a brain tumor surgically removed - in my band send(s) me something new he's/they're working on (usually just the audio in either .wav or .mp3 formats, and the occasional, but rare/sporadic .mp4 or .vid format videos so I can see how Jarrett, my other guitarist, plays whatever it is he's working on, so I can lay down leads to it, an octave or so higher, or anything that goes along well with the rhythm guitar, n I'll throw in some legato and sweep-picking solos (mostly just leads, but occasional solos that last like 30-40sec, before a heavy-*** breakdown.) Sorry for rambling about that stuff. Just got home from a rehearsal/jam session with my rhythm player :-D And it does pertain to the battery situation. W Straight Talk, I get AT&T 4G LTE service just about everywhere now, and their nearest tower they put up (it's actually a 4G/LTE micro cell that's legit a stone's throw away from my house lol. But using one or the other doesn't make much difference w my battery life, since it doesn't hafta search much for my LTE signal, n my router is in my room for my WiFi. Best way to find out is to keep the screen on indefinitely in the settings menu (I'm pretty sure you can still do that with L.) And make sure to check your wake locks regularly. That'll show how often your phone wakes up when not in use, to use the radio/receiver to find or search for an LTE signal. And that Definitely drains the battery. I generally get anywhere between 3-6hrs of legit screen-on time, depending on what I'm doing. Playing games, I'm lucky to get an hour or two, especially cuz the game I play most is the new UFC game, which has Amazing graphics, which pushes your Adreno 330 GPU to the max, along with using all 4 cores of your Snapdragon 800. My battery was better than ever once I got my 5.1 OTA (build LMY47I - r_3), but now after 3wks, it's crashing badly, my battery life is back to dog ****, my Google Music player stops n won't play till I force stop it, close it, then open it back up. Also, just yesterday, when I'd try to open my camera with ANY app, including the stock camera app, it says "error: failed to initialize camera." Not verbatim, but you get the gist. Idk how it was the best phone ever after immediately following the 5.1 OTA, and within 2-3wks, it's like I'm back on 5.0.1, which I loathed with every ounce of my being lol. Praying they push 5.1.1 OTA Very soon, so maybe it'll make my phone awesome for more than a couple weeks, and for the first time since the initial 5.0 launch, which was Awesome. I don't wanna do a factory reset, guess I'll tolerate it till they release 5.1.1. In the meantime, I think (since my phone is past its warranty) I'm going to get a Seidio 3200mAh replacement. Couldn't simpler to swap batteries in the N5, regardless what LG/Google say. I've replaced 4 friends' batteries in their N5's with HC Seidio aftermarket batteries. And they love their phones again. Think that's the best route to take until 5.1.1 is pushed OTA. And there's no guarantee that will fix issues, at least not long term. Hope this helped. Again, sorry for rambling. Been up for 3 days straight LOL.
