I ordered one at 9 this morning and it says its on back-order.

I am back ordered, and keep getting kicked from chat. I sent an email telling them to cancel if it does not ship in the next tow days.

Glad I still have one on hold with my local store for pick up at 4:30, but not glad about missing the deal. :-$

I just checked my order status and it was still in 'Carrier Approval'. Once I clicked the order details it said 'Backordered'. I finally connected with an Online Chat agent who said they would have the phone back in stock starting Monday - which would mean Tuesday delivery at the earliest. She was able to cancel my order.

Going to my local VZW tonight to get the one I was just able to get put on hold for me. I don't want to mess around with Backordered stock since there are no guarantees on when the phones will actually arrive.

Wirefly has it for $189 with a new contract or a new line on a family plan. Upgrades are $239, which I can get straight from VZ with any of the dozen or so $20 off coupons they've sent me since my contract expired back in September.

Just got off the phone with them. Phones are definitely back-ordered. They hope to get a new shipment ready by Monday. If your phone doesn't have shipped status, you are NOT going to get it before it ships potentially on monday.

Thought about cancelling my lets talk order and going through wirefly, but shipping out friday, I still won't get it til next week.

one of the droid-life comments states that when you sign a contract with verizon on lets talk you are actually signing a 1 year contract with lets talk and another 1 year contract with verizon. is this true?

Maybe. Still thinking about it. I know...throwing away money, but this is my Christmas present to myself.

I have considered picking it up at the store tonight, and possibly returning and going through Let's Talk next week if they do get them in. I just don't want to be left in the cold. I travel for work, and having a phone that does not work properly STINKS.

EDIT: Plus, writing this off as a business expense on my taxes.

yep.. been like that for a few hours now..

i should have known better. no i either have to just wait till they get more in.. or.. spend time trying to cancel this one so i can go pick up the one saved for me at the local verizon.

Done $174.99 w/grandfathered unlimited data. No tax in MA. I called VZW to make sure I can keep the exact same plan I have now and they said yes. I'm going to call VZW again when I activate the phone to make sure it all went through OK. I used Let's Talk before with great success. I'm confident it will all work out. Plus if a friend uses the service on your recommendation you get another $25 off and they get $25 off. So psyched to get this phone!

My phone is still in carrier approval and I got the phone around 6am EST. I also see the "Backordered-In Stock on unknown". While it is mildly annoying because I want the phone bad, I'm just gonna chill out and wait till it arrives. I still like my current phone Droid X and the Galaxy Nexus will get here soon enough. I may pick up some accessories while I'm waiting. Plus getting the phone in the store is kind of annoying too and it's not worth spending an extra $125 just to have the phone a few days early.
