Does this affect your buying decision? Leaked images of the tempered screen protectors are out. It's not going to be flat like the G6.

You lost me on that one but glass is definitely an absurd material to use to make something that gets dropped and by some people quite often.

This time it's beauty over functionality. Samsung said that their curved screens were for better comfort when holding it. We all know that's a lie and it's for looks and nothing more than a marketing gimmick. I personally think the V20 looks good, but for some it's not shiney and curvy enough.

Looks like a flatter S7/S8 to me... Advocates of the 'do not take removable batteries or your phone will be a flop!' movement will not be happy with this, though. Neither are those who still want a headphone jack or IR blasters.

I can let go of the IR blaster. But never the headphone jack. Heck, even airplanes still have headphone jacks (Virgin America airlines). What, are they going to convert airplanes to Bluetooth or USB C jacks just because it's trendy? Heck no. The 3.5mm jack will stay for a very long time. Say goodbye to durable, rugged phones and hello to fragile glass. Glass is the future. Someday we'll have all glass laptops too! Practical? No. Beautiful? Yes.

Curved screens may be better for comfort for some people...its not necessarily a lie, however you can make a phone curved withbout making the screen most of the curve.

Modern airlines do let you stream to YOUR device instead of a screen...so yeah, they DO change with the times (most of them, at least). And we already have glass on laptops and tablets.

Tab S3 is all glass, as is the Galaxy Book (I believe, might be wrong on that one). And I think there was an HP (or was it Apple?) laptop that had glossy glass back on the screen (still metal under the keyboard, though).

The Lenovo Yoga tablet/weird-laptop hybrid/monster with the cool glass keyboard is also glass everywhere else, IIRC.

Get decent ones and you wont have to. I have a pair of Sony over-the-ear ones that will last for weeks if I only use them for a couple hours every night, so I'm sure they could get you through a few days of moderate use.

Exactly....even my cheap in ear ones get a week or more with moderate use.

No fan of glass backs, though. Seriously, why do they carry the perceived notion of being "premium"?

IMO, glass is an extremely silly material for the back of a phone. It's slippery, fragile and will get covered with smudges and fingerprints in almost no time at all.
