The same here. If the leaks hold true I like nothing about it. Even the design I think it's ugly. But that's the great part about it. The design does speak to many. So many great devices out there. Something for everyone.

I still think that a phone maker trying to make their flagships appeal to a larger audience is something that can be described as "betrayal". Most of the people with that notion are admittedly the same people who "betrayed" Samsung for doing the same thing with their flagships. Maybe we shouldn't think of our phones as if they were our nations or families.

POLED should be considered a good thing if you like OLED. I wouldn't worry about it.

It's a sacrifice in order to grow. The V30 is extremely appealing to Pixel and former Apple fans, as well as Samsung fans. If they gotta leave us in the dust, then that's what they gotta do. Just wish someone kept the removable battery feature, tired of buying phones over and over again just to have the battery die so sooner than expected.

It'll be a good phone, but lots of features sacrificed. Honestly there's not much choice anymore: Pixel 2, Moto, & HTC has no headphone jack, Samsung only offers curved screen with annoying FPS placement and the Essential phone looks like it won't have a headphone jack as well and overpriced. What's left that's good is the V30, OnePlus5, and upcoming Huawei Mate 10. To me, seems like the V30 is my best shot, especially since I'm already used to LG phones, using any other phone would annoy me since I'm spoiled with their great OS and features. If I do get another phone, I'm still keeping my V20.
The V30 is in no way appealing to Pixel fans, not sure about Apple, but I doubt it. Pixel is about something completely different and it's something that LG has never attempted to do well.

iPhone users are getting tired of the same old thing, small incremental upgrades and the loss of headphone jack. As for Pixel fans, who knows. This is the first year they are removing the headphone jack, plus they never had an SD card slot. With this sleek and modern design compared to that old design the Pixel 2 is coming out with, I'm sure the V30 is appealing. Question: is the V20 slow and laggy? Absolutely not. Is it faster than the Pixel? I don't know, both phones are lightning quick. The LG OS is very lightweight with very little bloat and has more practical and useful features such as knock to wake screen.
That's one iPhone user, who talks about technology for a living
But my point is that the Pixel and the LG G & V series have totally different approaches to what makes a good experience, with almost no overlap. LG has never tried to take Google's approach and Google's never tried LG's approach.

I'm probably not getting a V30, here's why
My V20 still performs great and there are no real practical reasons to get the V30 besides for the camera upgrade. But with the loss of all the unique features the V20 has, it's kind of pointless. Losing the removable battery, possibly the Quad DAC in the US version, possibly smaller internal capacity (32GB), losing the IR blaster, it doesn't make any sense. Faster processor? Who really needs a faster processor than the SD 835? If you're smart you'll save money buying a $350 V20 and a good mini pocketable DSLR point and shoot camera for around $300. I just bought a Panasonic Lumix GM1 and it's amazing. Don't always rely on the smartphone for photography, it will never produce top notch quality photos like a real camera. If you want to buy a phone that looks pretty and performs well, then the V30 is a good choice compared to the few choices we have nowadays. Who knows, I might get the V30, but it's highly unlikely. I could easily get a G6 for half the cost and it's nearly the same thing.

The V30 will not be limited to weird market differentiators like the G6 at least not when it comes to the DAC. Maybe LG will be stupid and separate other features like wireless charging and waterproofing though.

The 835 is the faster processor. So better SoC, better camera (hopefully), sounds like a better display (hope to the gods that they calibrate it properly)... but yeah the V20 is good enough, that's hard to justify going from it to the glass bodied basically same phone.

I don't know of any. I don't like glass backs nor 2/1 screen ratio so I don't know any new flagship phones I like. The new Moto comes to mind but read about the problems. Ugh.
Essential is all glass. I prefer plastic to glass. I am a Verizon user. I know nothing about new Pixel except. big one too big... and isn't it 2/1 screen ratio?
Big one is 2:1, small one is 16:9. Both metal backs with that glass window thing, but the glass is smaller this year.
