Anyone have any experience with the iloome LG G2 Screen Protector? The one I'm looking at is the Screenmate Flex with an 8H hardness rating. It's suppose to be impact resistant and shatterproof, which if works properly, will crack before the actual phone screen will. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I had the exact same screen protector on my Galaxy S4, it was a great buy off amazon, if you are using a case even better because the screen protectors forms a little sharp edges all the way around. I will suggest, if you pick it up make sure to use the little hinge stickers that it comes with, it can be a bit tricky to apply with out. If for some reason you decide not to, I would recommend the Tech Armor screen protector, half the price as the iloome, good protection and the clarity is like there's nothing there.

Hi,

I work for a company called Expert Shield UK (We do screen protectors but I'm not trying to sell)

We have a blog that should help you when it comes to applying Blog - How to apply a screen protector in 5 minutes, or less.

And one for bubbles Blog - Bubble Trouble? Let's Seek & Destroy...

If you have anymore questions I'm sure I can help.

Oliver

Hi Oliver,

Love the two "screen protector" links you posted. Both really informative and handy, and I'm also looking for a good screen protector for my LG G2.

Problem with your company "Expert Shield", at both their UK and US websites, they do not show anywhere that they provide screen protectors for the LG G2? :-\ . . . . Buggers.......and with the great links you posted showing how to install and all, I was ready to buy.

And therefore all interested and worth noting, besides the "Tech Armor" noted in the previous post, another screen protector that looks good and that I may try out is by "Super Shieldz", see link:

I have the same as this and it is very good, perhaps the only complaint is that the screen is not as smooth and as 'oleophobic' as the naked screen but all in all I would buy it again even though it's expensive.

HAHA I bought the super shield, it's really nice. Wish I could post pics but I still can't. It's worth the money and you get a pack of 6, so you will have screen protectors for days. It's smooth and has a warranty, really can't go wrong with it.

Hello cacciucco,

I was going to buy either the Tech Armor or the Super Shieldz protectors, however after reading your post and VTO's original post about the iLoome Screenmate Flex protector, I have a question.......

Regarding where VTO stated in this string that this protector from iLoome creates a "sharp ridge" all the way around the edges of where this protector is installed.......

1 - is that because this iLoome protector is so much thicker than other typical protectors?

2 - does this "sharp ridge" cause you any issues in your experience?

Thanks for your input and thoughts on this issue,

Hi VTO,

Do you like the Super Shieldz better than the iLoome Screenmate Flex protector?

I'm looking into the iLoome protector that JAG21979 and cacciucco are posting about, I like that hardness factor they boast.

And I see you have used them too. Is that "sharp ridge" issue you noted originally why you chose not to go back to using them and instead get the Super Shieldz?

much appreciated,

I just ordered the iloome flex and will post a review once I've applied the tempered glass screen and used it for a week or so. Thanks for the replies and perspective.

Hey JAG21979,

Thanks......I'm now curious if the "sharp edges" that VTO discussed will be an issue for you.

I like the fact that iLoome screen protectors have a great hardness factor, but if the trade off is some kind of out of the ordinary "sharp edge" to deal with, then I don't know?

I was hoping that VTO responded with some more feedback since my last questions posted to her.

Curious to hear what you have to report back with these iLoome protectors and if you experience any sharp edges?

looking forward,

Hey TahoeRunner, the edge does not pose a problem, it was just something to point out, some people might not care, some might get annoyed, if you have a case that forms a lip around the front of the phone, then you'll be good. I chose to go with the SuperShieldz because I dropped my old S4 and cracked the screen protector on the corner, which I thought, it's better to buy a cheap protector, it was just something else for me to try. Figured if I have a decent case and something to protect the screen I'll be good. iloome makes really good protectors that's all I can say, but it was a no brainer for me between almost $20 for one or $5 for 6. You can spend $5 and try it, it's cheaper than almost $20 :D

I also ordered the Spigen Slim Armor case which has a lip around the edges so I don't suspect the sharp edges will bother me. However, once I get the screen protector and case I will respond to this forum with my experience.

The iloome scratches very easily compared to other tempered glass screen covers. I had really good luck with my mime on my s4 so I ordered one for my g2 as well. Just waiting for my iloome to be too scratched up to deal with.

Interesting, I just want a screen protector that is smooth finger proof and no scratches. I seem to b replacing mine every couple months. I ordered the iloom thinking it would scratch, and now I read it scratches. Oh my

I will keep suggesting the SuperShieldz or the TechArmor, both under $10 including shipping and you get more than one screen protector, I just think it's worth a try guys

I have the supershieldz screen protector and it is great, and you can't beat the price.

Hi Tahoe-Runner,
I am not hugely bothered by the sharp edges, the screen protector is a little smaller than the screen itself. I am not sure what to suggest in respect to other products mentioned here. The toughened glass screen looks good on paper, iLoome has one for the G2 but Amazon.uk has taken it off the market because of a customer complain. I guess the one on eBay is so inexpensive that even if it is not as good as they promised it would not be a big loss.

I received my iloome flex in the mail and installed it last night. As some others in this forum have stated, the iloome flex doesn't cover the g2's screen completely. There will be a very narrow part of the left and right edges of the screen, not the top or bottom, that will be naked. This doesn't bother me personally too much, if you view the screen from very wide angles, you will see the line on the outside of the screen. The edges aren't sharp but the screen protector will let you know it's there if you run your fingers over it. There isn't any distortion in the screen quality at all. Overall, I'm happy with the screen protector and would say it's well worth the $16.99 I paid for it. Installation wasn't too bad as long as you're not in a hurry and pay close attention to the directions. I also purchased the Spigen Slim Armor and it fits the phone well and offers great protection. Does add a little bulk around the edges, but the tradeoff is good protection. The case is pretty sexy and ergonomics are superb for this type of case. I wish they made the Spigen Neo Hybrid for the G2, I had one on my Note 3 and loved it. Spigen makes quality cases for a reasonable price, plus they all look good.
