LG G2: Touch Screen Issues?

Re: G2 Touch Screen Issues?

I have no touch screen issues, it's been 1 month.

There are a number of touchscreen issues that have been reported with the G2. The one discussed the most here at AC is best described here.

G2 Touchscreen Issues - Update... - xda-developers

This specific issue seemed to be based on usage patterns. Therefore, some G2 owners never saw the defect - and that's just fine and expected. (Past tense intentionally used here - see the next thread!)

Re: G2 Touch Screen Issues?

Reporting-in that 4 days have gone by now and for my VZW G2, the issue of erratic touchscreen behavior has not surfaced again. This is awesome, but not quite yet conclusive.

Between my thread at XDA and this thread here at AC, VZW owners appear to be in agreement that the issue has not surfaced, for anyone.

Re: G2 Touch Screen Issues?

5 days have gone by and all is well. Looks like there's no need to weigh-in every day! Haven't heard anything negative from VZW G2 owners here or at XDA.

If this persists as a resolved issue, I'll make sure to send a hearty THANKS to VZW and LG!

Re: G2 Touch Screen Issues?

Glad to hear that. I never had any such problems on my Verizon G2, but it pained me to see people dealing with it on an otherwise amazing phone.

Re: G2 Touch Screen Issues?

It appears a factory data reset fixed my issues with the proximity sensor not working and screen not staying awake.

I'm having this issue too. Would switching to a customROM help? CM or something? D803 on Telus in Canada

Over in the xda thread they noted that switching roms does not fox the issue so no switching to a custom rom would not help

Re: G2 Touch Screen Issues?

For those with the tmobile version. I received an update yesterday for my device 146.9 MB in total. Maybe this update fixed the touchscreen issues. I'll report back with further results.

Re: G2 Touch Screen Issues?

After testing the T-Mobile update for a few days I have some news. The update seems to have fixed the radical behavior. BUT now I seem to have random double presses. When scrolling for example I will randomly get a zoom in while Web browsing or on Instagram I'll accidentally hit the favorite button. When I try to use the quick memo to get a visual of what's going on, I can't seem to replicate it or get it to appear when drawing vertical lines. Less minor issue than it was before.

Re: G2 Touch Screen Issues?

I have owned my VZW G2 a little over 1 month and have the version 98012B software update. Not only do I have the erratic touch screen, but it has become so severe that my phone is virtually useless. Also, it thinks I have a headset plugged in (icon) and the 1 time I successfully managed for it to dial out, I had to press (a million times) speaker phone just to use it in handset mode to my ear as the regular phone mode had zero sound. my new G2 is stuck at the post office until Monday but this does not seem to promising given the update was already installed AND I factory restored the phone 3 days ago. It actually got worse randomly today, 3 days after the reset. The weeks prior, I had Bluetooth disconnects while the BT was still active, any music I played would randomly pause or stop in the app, heat-ups and ZERO touch screen issues until today. Is there another planned patch?

Most people with the erratic screen issue have just exchanged theirs and it fixed the problem. I don't see why your new phone wouldn't work....it's early and maybe I missed something in your post 😴

Even i had a touch problem with lg g2..... is there any solution to resolve this problem?????
Every now and then my phone will go crazy. For example if I'm in a browser and I try to 1 finger scroll up or down i will have random zooming happen or a link gets selected. It just doesn't respond like you would expect it to almost as if it doesn't register your touch gesture correctly. Once it gets into one of these modes the problems persist until i turn off the screen and leave it be for a bit.

one more problem i am facing signaling problem like range is full but sometime incoming calls are not getting, sometime its show switched off
please give me the solution for this
thank you

Slowly but surely my touchscreen is having issues. First the tap on feature quit working, now I cant pull down the status bar. When I restart the phone it wants to go into "hardware protected mode"???
This is what quicknote did (when I could still access it...dont know how other than pulling the bar down)

@The last two posters: Just out of curiosity, what versions of Android are you guys using?

As of today, the knock on feature does not work.

Never had any issues with it before but all of sudden it just stopped working, I first checked under the settings menu to see if disabled it but that was not the case, I also did a back up and a factory reset to see if it would work again but that didn't work either.

While it's no major issue, I would prefer it to work as before, if anyone has any ideas or fixes, it would be greatly appreciated.
