LG G3 Anyone happy with Lollipop?

Re: Anyone happy with Lollipop?

No issues at all with Lollipop here.
Battery life is as expected, considering screen size and type. No overheating, no lags (international D855).
For our phone, Lollipop is far better solution than KK, considering all the improvements done under the hood.

Nice to hear Lollipop made your G3 much better. Mines a bit buggy and laggy and some overheating during Web browsing. Using D855 16gb. will try to flash orig. rom this weekend and see what happens.

Re: Anyone happy with Lollipop?

In general I find 5 a little smoother. But it does sometimes lag like a windows hd thrasing because it is too full. And I am getting tired dealinf with amateur software that rewrites a screen over and over, and browser ads that blick your screen and don't have an easy way around them. My keyboard will change of its own volition. Stupid security measures which prevent use of resources. Inability to save where you want. Have the other guys got anything better?

Re: Anyone happy with Lollipop?

Is it just me or does lollipop seem to run better on the stock launcher rather than on Nova Prime?

You're right. Lollipop works better with stock launcher. I'm totally stock, except for AquaMail and Textra. Both of those apps have worked better than their stock counterparts, on all my phones.:p

Re: Anyone happy with Lollipop?

Ok, cool thanks folks. It just seems to be most people are not happy or downright mad about the the "update". Normally, I'd plow ahead come what may, but so far all I see is changes I'm either not going to like or will take long to get used to , potential performance and battery hits. I'll bide my time as I'm perfectly happy atm.

I'm sure I could be happy, but besides the complaints I don't know of many advantages of 5.0 over 4.4 and I don't think I'll like the new notification system.

I will tell you this..

Putting on an AOSP version of Lollipop was the best thing I ever did to my G3.

I did try out a stock Lollipop ROM and have to say it is not a great experience. Not as smooth, looks were nothing great, took up too much room with all the cruddy LG stock applications and system things. It was horrible.

I think this phone is best on an AOSP Lollipop firmware. Battery, flow, performance, speed.. It's all much better than stock.

Re: Anyone happy with Lollipop?

Two days on Verizon version and nothing to complain about, had done everything so far like it should. Opens apps, closes apps, changes screens, does everything it should and also operates as a phone.

Re: Anyone happy with Lollipop?

Love lollipop. It's the best thing to happen to Android since ICS - and by a lot.

I'm an AOSP man at heart and I know that's where I'll end up eventually, but two things stop me. Camera - I really like the camera and I know AOSP will be a downgrade and dual window mode. Since being able to use any app it's something I love having.

Dual window is a little missed, but only a little because I used it a little. I understand others use it a lot more. I have not searched for a replacement method to this yet.

Personally I have found the AOSP camera to be unusable. That's why I flashed the HTC M9 camera and it has been absolutely wonderful. Initially I missed the photo editing options from stock, but found Snapseed to exceed the former.

Re: Anyone happy with Lollipop?

neither like or dislike just think lg could of done better on update

Re: Anyone happy with Lollipop?

Working Good for me. After factory reset lag gone bugs gone. Smooth sailing.

Re: Anyone happy with Lollipop?

T-mobile here, update went smoothly.

That is to say the downgrade process went without any problems. . It did a fine job in making my phone useless.

WiFi does not work, and as long as WiFi is turned on, you can a actually watch the battery go down. With every app but android turned off the battery lasts maybe an hour.

The only way to get the battery to last longer (a whopping 4 hours) is to turn off the WiFi. .

As WiFi calling is the MAIN reason for being in T-mobile..... The phone has become a paperweight.

Reminds me of my HTC one S that piece of crap wouldn't hardly make a call. This thing isn't much better.

On top of WiFi not working, the cell service has dropped off by 75% I used to get all bars while at home, now I get 2.

Not sure where the blame lies, LG, T-mobile, or Google. But if they are going to ruin our phones, they should pay to replace them.
