LG G3 Anyone happy with Lollipop?

Re: Anyone happy with Lollipop?

I never use stock launchers but since my LG updated to 5.0 I am using LGs stock. I hated their kit Kat interface I'm really impressed with the improvements to the interface they made.

You may be right, but since i'm not going to root this puppy, i'll stay stock and love it.:p

On day 2 after a factory reset everything seems fine except battery life still pretty bad. Took phone off charger about 7:30 this morning and I'm currently at 33%with about a hour and 15 minutes of screen on time with brightness at 17%. No apps with any significant usage, mostly android system.

Re: Anyone happy with Lollipop?

So far my G3 on t mobile funds awesome, maybe only issue i had was battery drain and it seems the auto lighting of the display was the problem...the G2 has same issue...put lux apk on phone and battery life has gone back to awesome 9hours fifteen minutes of all day on and off usage still have 52%.

Re: Anyone happy with Lollipop?

I just got the g3 on tmobile and OTA and lg pc suite both do not show the lollipop update to be available. Has tmobile put the update on hold to fix some issues? Any advice?

Re: Anyone happy with Lollipop?

My update came over the air the day we got the phone at T-Mobile.

Re: Anyone happy with Lollipop?

I had been sitting on the fence since 5.0.2 on my Nexus 7/12 died after opening a local news app when on vacation in Mazatlan.
This was my only really bad Android experience.
But I went ahead today and updated during supper and all seems well.
:-!

Re: Anyone happy with Lollipop?

So far so good, no issues at all.

Still love my phone as much as the day I received it.

Re: Anyone happy with Lollipop?

No real issues here. Battery life has gotten better over time. I do notice I don't get notifications from games anymore though. I may do a FDR tomorrow for the hell of it. See if it down my improve some things.

Re: Anyone happy with Lollipop?

I like some of the new stuff it brought, but in general I cannot say I'm very happy. Since the update the contacts/calls app is laggy and I'm getting some issues with GPS keeping the phone awake and killing my battery... Using a nexus 4 btw

Re: Anyone happy with Lollipop?

The best I can put is its fine. I'm not a huge fan of the design of lollipop even stock android 5.0 I don't like. But looks aside after a few days it has gotten better. Battery is good 15-17 hours with 3-4 hours of SOT and going to bed with 20-30% is good . Last night I was on battery for 19 hours and 2 and a half hours SOT and was listening to music and reading readdit and other things went to bed with 52% left. But I log that time thing to exception not rule. Runs smooth had one reboot caused by a hang up but has not happened since. Using it is always a joy just like before still prefer this phone to most of the offerings out there now.

If you are on verizon, your google account won't sync when on wifi. Other than that I have no problems with Lolly.

And the workaround for Verizon users is to turn off LTE and WI-Fi when syncing with Google services, etc. Not good for those with limited data plan.

You can't have WiFi, and LTE on at the same time. You can put the phone in airplane mode and turn on wifi, and it will sync. Or, turn off WiFi, and airplane mode, but, you will have to make calls over IP using Hangouts with your GVoice number when airplane mode is on. If that makes sense.

Re: Anyone happy with Lollipop?

I'm happy with it. Nearly a week in, my phone is still more responsive than it was on 4.4.2. The only annoyance I have is that we lost the ability to mute the phone quickly from the power menu.

Sent from my LG G3 smartphone.

If you pull down the notification shade and tap phone volume icon once it goes to vibrate and another tap it goes to no interruptions.

Are you saying at home you either have to have wifi or LTE but not both?

At home I turn off cell, turn on WiFi. Same at work. On the road I have to turn off WiFi, and turn on cell.
