LG G3 marshmallow update No MMS on wifi

I would like some help and advice on fixing my phone. Updated last week to marshmallow 6.0.
Problem: Cannot send or receive MMS when connected to wifi. Turning wifi off works, however that is a work around. It wasn't an issue before update.
Details:
Lg G3, consumer cellular service (At&t sim).
Seems to be a problem with Wifi calling, that was enabled by default after update. My sim card doesn't support wifi calling.

Welcome to Android Central! Are you able to turn off wi-fi calling?

Yes, I can turn off. I get error ER05 when on. I leave it off. Never used it prior to update.

My carrier is sending a wifi enabled sim card, hopefully that works. I still think it should work without wifi calling. Is that an Android decision in 6.0?
