LG G3 : Recpient suggestion not showing in Messaging app

Hi,
My LG G3 phone does not show the recipient suggestion when typing a name or number in the to box of the messaging app. I did a factory reset to arrest this problem 15 days back but it has reoccurred.

I would appreciate some help on this issue. Thanks in advance friends.

Welcome to Android Central! Does that only happen in the Messaging app? How about the email app or the Phone app?

Welcome to the forums! What about third party messaging apps - does the problem persist there, as well?

Thanks for your response. It happens only for the Messaging App. The other apps work fine.I'm unable to understand what would be the possible issue.

Is your phone on Marshmallow? If so, go to Settings>Apps, select Messaging, then Permissions, and make sure the app has permission for your Contacts.

Thank you Diddy. I had to disable and enable the contacts permission to make the app get back to normal.
I was planning to do a factory reset again you're help was very timely.Thanks a lot
