If they do indeed offer it at 50% off and you have the money to spend, you may want to pick one up. You will probably have 14 days to return it.
If you're happy with the G2, you'll probably like the G3. Better hardware and UI. The only area of concern is battery life. You should read [URL=" http://www.anandtech.com/show/8169/the-lg-g3-review" ]Anandtech's review[/URL] of the G3.
Battery life was good on their tests, but there were a few caveats. You definitely should give their full review a read, as it has some good info. Anandtech has some of the best, most thorough reviews on the internet.
Depending on how you use your phone, the screen may also be a problem as it isn't the most color accurate. But for most people this probably isn't a problem.
Overall, the G3 looks to be an improvement over the G2. You will probably like it, as long as you're OK with that 5.5 inch screen.
If you decide to get one, you can compare it to your G2. This is probably the best way to see if you like it. Compare them side by side and separately. Try to use the G3 as much as possible for a few days, and then use it like you normally would. This should help you get an idea of battery life with heavy usage and your normal usage, and obviously help to decide whether or not you like it.
If you end up liking it, keep it! If not, you can always return it; just make sure to check Verizon's return policy before ordering.

Is preorder online only or in store also? I want to get the G3 using the device payment plan (not EDGE) so I can keep my unlimited account. I think this has to be done in store.

I'm same boat. I thank dpp is only in store and not on pre orders. Nice to see some else knows about dpp. Most stores look at me funny when I bought the g2.

Verizon Pre-order
It's available for pre-order tomorrow and will hit stores in one week. Typically how long does a pre-order take to ship to your home? This is the first cellphone I'm buying online in the 16 years I've been a wireless customer.

Preorders are online and in store. You can expect them to start after midnight tonight I'm sure... Some of our smart stores will have displays on hand to play with as soon as tomorrow.
Can that be done?
I have 4 smartphones on my account. I am the only one still on unlimited data and I'm eligible for an upgrade. Can I transfer the upgrade to my wife and when the phone comes just activate under my number? How does that work?
Sorry, don't want to hijack the thread but I really want the G3.

From what I read it still works. After the upgrade is moved to the other line go and order the new phone online. It should not ask you to change anything on the line the upgrade was moved from. I was just going to pop my wifes sim in the g3 after it arrives to activate it then move her sim back to her htc one and put my sim in it.
But I can not guarantee this will work. I have read on the forums here that it works but do it at your I own risk. If at some point it asks to change your lines data plan I would cancel the transaction.

They will likely price match it if you go into a store. I'm an AT&T Customer but always buy from Best Buy. Today they price matched the AT&T G watch half off when I pre-ordered a AT&T G3... so when it comes to price matching they're pretty serious about it.
