LG G4 First Impressions & Pending Review

Re: Is your G4 Naked?

I find it very hard to cover up the leather back...but I know someday it will accidentally be dropped and I know I need to get a case on it

Re: The times they are a changin

I've been a WP user since I smashed my Galaxy 2 about 4 or 5 years ago. I've been wanting a new phone and WP hasn't put out anything that has excited me. I figured I had a couple choices, the 2 iPhone 6's, S6 or S6 edge. I like a bigger phone but the Note 4 and Lumia 1520 are just too big. I looked at what Apple had and although they make a nice product it did nothing for me. I consider them very boring. Sometime while I was reading about and trying to decide if I should go with the Edge I saw a picture of the G4 in the tan leather.

So what drew me to the G4 was the style. Than I started to look into it and found that that the camera and specs were awesome. Reading the reviews here from all those who received the pre-release devices, along with the price and promotional extras sealed the deal.

I've never been one to believe that what is the best seller is the best product. It's true in most markets. Take beer for example. Do you think any of the top 5 selling beers in the US are the best? Why do they sell so well? I have no idea but I am always looking for a better option.

In my mind the G4 is a better option. Thank you LG, keep up the good work. Thank you all who received the early devices and shared their thoughts with us. We appreciate the time and effort you put in.

Re: Is your G4 Naked?

No case here, always enjoy the phones naked the way they were designed instead of crapping it up with bulky cases.

Re: Is your G4 Naked?

I thank hTc's One M7, I appreciated and loved the Premium Build so much that I only use cases when I'm at work (factory).

Last year I had the Spigen Ultra Hybrid for my G3, I thought about buying it again for my G4 but this year since I'm getting the Brown Leather Back I will keep her naked, even at work I'll just change the back to the OEM plastic cover.

Re: Is your G4 Naked?

I got a clear case on, just because i want to enjoy the look of the phone without scratching it (i like my devices to be in good shape when i sell them). Snagged this off of amazon, but it didn't have a cutout for the mic at the bottom of the phone.

Re: Is your G4 Naked?

Leather back so no case. For the record I'm trading in a 2013 Moto X that I used without a case and it still looks like the day I got it. What's the point of buying a gorgeous phone if you can only see the screen? Not a believer in cases. If I break it, that's what the insurance is for.

Re: Is your G4 Naked?

No case, but do have a tempered glass screen protector on it.

Re: Is your G4 Naked?

Hell no. This phone is too...fragile to go naked. I'm using the Otterbox Commuter case.

Re: Is your G4 Naked?

Naked with a glass screen protector. I tried the verus verge case but it made it look too bulky and crappy looking. I'll just have to be extra careful with her.

Re: The times they are a changin

My girlfriend has yelled at me a few times since I haven't kept a device more than 6 to 7 months haha.

I just point to the stack of 500 shoes in the closet and the topic is closed. :-)

Look at what LG did with the Nexus 4, Nexus 5, G2, G3....I just had every confidence that the G4 would be a continuation of that excellence of design and manufacturing quality. So far, that's proving to be true. :)

Re: The times they are a changin

Lg since the G2 as should be the case has progressively got better & better with each iteration.

Some may throw the lack of premium materials. However Lg has improved the build and whilst I very much like my S6E and the materials used. The G4 has that nice solid build & yes its every bit as premium as the others IMO.

I don't feel that when I alternate back and forth that the G4 is sub par, this is what I'm referring to.

My vibe for the G3 was strong and the G4 fulfills that yet again.

I only started taking notice of LG when I came across their G2. I was very very surprised at how well made that device was even though it didn't have an sd card and removable battery. I eagerly awaited the release of the G3, and since then, they have a new customer.

Re: Is your G4 Naked?

I'm rocking commando with a screen protector. Not sure how long I'll go without a case but so far I like the leather back look.

Re: Is your G4 Naked?

Naked because im using a leather back and thats replaceable if i get too many scratches on it anyway..

Re: Is your G4 Naked?

Currently don't have a case since I just recently got the phone but I'm looking to get one very soon. There's this one from Spigen that looks pretty good, I might get it. Anyone else got any recommendations for a nice decent priced case?
