LG G4 looks interesting

Just got my G4 today...its charging now. I have a Nexus 6 and One M9, so I will be more than happy to provide feedback!

I'll be looking forward to your input!

Something I need to say is once you have kids or a reason to ta!e photos with devices you have on you, nothing else really matters.. Stock android, pure, fast updates, whatever. To be able to confidently snap a photo in moments that matter easily and high quality are absolutely worth the tradeoffs.

And you are saying Nexus 6 is not capable of doing that? Very much disagree with you there. Yes, LG 4 might have a better camera, but that doesn't mean N 6 doesn't have a good camera.

Yes I am saying that. I love the Nexus 6 but trying to get a quick photo that you can be happy with takes more effort. Slow focusing, opening up camera app, and poor autofocus in video. But the G4 has that double press the volume down button to bring up the camera, and the S6 has the home button. That and the fact that the Nexus camera has crashed on me in times when I've tried to take a pic. I'm not confident the Nexus can get the quality of shots the S6 and G4 can get.

Having both, G4 daily driver because of camera and manageable size. Nexus 6 because I'm rocking Android M and use it at home like a tablet.

Curious if any of the folks who have a G4 have a Bose noise canceling over ear headset. With the G3, I couldn't get it to recognize the Bose headsets. Haven't had that problem with any other phones.

Yup, too true. I've noticed that I can get really great photos out of the Nexus, but it does take more planning ahead for getting photos.

My wife convinced me to try out the G4 (after getting her one) and it's been an interesting transition. First, because usually she's the one telling me not to get a new phone (lol), but now that I'm trying the LG I've been able to take some really great photos with it, and the shot to shot speeds really have been incredible. Something that I've missed from my One and other phones. I really hope the Google Camera steps up its game for the Nexus's sake.

And plus I was able to use it hours after activating it to witness my first child come into the world a week early!

how does the slow motion recording look on the G4? On the S6 it is smooth but quality is poor.

I wonder what parents did before there were cameras? Let's not blow it out of proportion now.

I have both the Nexus 6 and the LG G4.(H815)
I am using the N6 on verizon, and the G4 on At&t.(go phone plan)
I have had my Nexus 6 since April 25th and the G4 since May 26th
Both are great devices, for myself I cant see getting rid of the N6.
Both run smooth and the LG G4 H815 has no carrier bloat
I admit I haven't had taken many pics with either phone so haven't done a camera comparison.
It looks like I will be keeping them both :) lol

Must be nice to afford two flagships. ;)
I had to get my N6 on credit, and even then I shouldn't have done it. I see some people on here that have multiple flagship devices. I'm not saying it's wrong, as I would probably have 2 or 3 if I could afford it.

I know. It's like people have to capture everything their kids/families do. I understand that people want memories, but it can get out of hand. I myself am more concerned with the future than the past.

A question for those that need to document every waking moment of their families lives: do you sit around and look at them all the time? But let's face it, most moments are mundane and very repeatable. I can understand taking pics at certain times (birthdays, graduations, vacations, sports, etc.) Most other things are just stuff you see all the time. Oh well, snap away!

Instead of trying to capture every moment, I try to live it. When you stop to take pics/vids, I think it actually takes away some of the spontaneity. Kind of like "real" TV.

I bought the Nexus 6 full retail, One M9 w/ the HTC Championship promo $299, and the LG G4 w/ a bunch of Verizon gift cards. They had a trade-in promo where u can trade in any working android phone and u get a $100 Gift card, so i ran out bought 7 prepaids lol. You just have to search for the hot deals!

I have the Nexus 4 and am ready to upgrade to either the Nexus 6 or the G4. I have played with both in the store.

Nexus 6
  1. Speed and responsiveness
  2. Pure Android
  3. Decent Camera (much better than my N4)
  4. Always on Voice Command (This is big for me)

LG G4
  1. Great Camera
  2. Love the screen
  3. Perfect size
  4. Fast
  5. Did I Say Great Camera?

I guess my concern with the Nexus 6 is the camera and size. My concern with the G4 is lack of pure android experience (especially Google Now functionality). I think I'm leaning towards the Nexus.

Any thoughts?

Left my note 4 for Nexus 6 and glad I did. The pure android experience is nothing short of fantastic. I would not trade it for any other phone.

I've had both phones for awhile now so if anyone has any questions let me know.

I do have a question for anyone else that has both. Have you tried charging your G4 with your Moto Turbo Charger? I assumed I'd get a quick charge but it took nearly 4 hours to go from 10% to 100%.
