I was also told just a little bit ago (right or wrong) by the BB rep in person that I could buy on Edge as his hesitations where they would remove my Edge discount, and then pay off the next day. He said his only thought was whether or not Verizon would negate the Edge pricing buying it unactivated. I am looking into that. I can handle 24 hours to 30 days and pay off. Just don't want a note for 2 years.

EDIT: Doh, just remembered on Edge you have to cough up your old phone. While mine is almost worthless to anybody but me I don't wish to give it up.

DOUBLE EDIT: NM above. I was way wrong. A posting in the Verizon forum by dpham00 indicates once you cough up full money value of phone its yours no strings attached. Since I am not protecting a UDP seems like going to Edge and then pay it off the next day suits my needs.

TRIPLE EDIT: More confusion on my part. If I buy Edge then I guess I am entering into a contract and risk non-discount pricing once contract is up. Geez, its like a differential equation!

At Target Mobile, you can upgrade your phone for AT&T. Verizon, or Sprint. I haven't seen pushiness in the sales people (at least in Georgia).

So even if I bought a phone from Swappa (versus BB)I would be charged monthly? I am puzzled and maybe a little lost at that statement? My thought to buy it out off of the plantation I would side step monthly payments and only make a one time payment.

Please don't misunderstand me. I do not know anything about the program other than it's a monthly charge and allows you to upgrade faster. I'm just sayign that you want to check with VZW before buying anything. In a later post it looks like you are. Good Luck.

Oh no worries. I am just trying to get my head around this. I know they want you on contract but one would think a phone sale is a phone sale. Can't be a ton of me like me out there just wanting to pay and done that would upset their ecosystem.
