LG G4: Possible Arbitary Reset/Loss of Wallpaper/Files/Computer Access

This morning, my LG G4 changed such that:

a) the wallpaper is gone/returned to default;
b) the notifications bar no longer allows me to change to access files from my computer; and
c) (therefore) I can't seem to cut/paste pictures from my computer to the phone to replace/reset the wallpaper.

The phone was working perfectly well (or the same as usual) last night.

I hate technology that arbitrarily tries to control my life. Any suggestions on what the problem could be and how to fix it?

Was the wallpaper you were using saved to Internal Storage or the SD card?

Have you already tried different USB cables? Cables can fail, such that they no longer properly work for data transfer.
