LG G4 Wireless Qi Charging

Based on what I've read, it sounds like no one's putting out a replacement back that also contains the NFC/Qi coil? Only cases?

Has anyone found a cheap replacement for the back? If I'm going to experiment with this, I'd rather ruin a $10 replacement back than my leather one. So far, I've only seen the official $60 ones.

I also struggled to get the amazon sticker to work without removing the OEM NFC sticker. When I put it on settings/battery it kept flipping from charging/discharging back and forth. So it wanted to work but couldn't. Tried all manners of shim on the contacts from none to two sided foam tape. Same issue. And being a wireless charging junkie for 3 years, I had to get it to work. Finally I bit the bullet and carefully, carefully heated the back and removed that sticker and the sticker below it. Good luck on that. That sticker is about 2 microns thick. I really doubt I could get that sticker back on undetectable if I had a warranty claim with verizon. But it worked like a charm once that sticker was off. Now I'm in the market for a verizon OEM grey battery cover. Anyone?

WHy would you leave the NFC on? I used a pocket knife and pulled the old one off, then put the new NFC/Qi sticker on. It works fine for both NFC and Qi charging.

No. The only backs I can find are $60 plus and you have to add on the $6-14 Qi/NFC sticker. (Although putting the sticker on is really easy.) I haven't checked FleaBay, but that's probably on purpose.

Can anyone tell me if this works on AT&T network LG G4 ?

That one I cannot answer. I know those who had AT&T had issues last year with the G3. I'd only listen to those who actually have a AT&T version with Qi working. GOod luck. Hopefully one will respond.

Just found a back on eBay for $5, and it's from a local seller. If the back doesn't look like absolute junk, I'll grab the sticker and give it a whirl.

Here's what I'm grabbing: Ultra Thin Slim Chrome Carbon Fiber Hard Back Cover Case for LG G4 F500 2015 | eBay

I'll update when it shows up.

Sfbates may we get an update of your experience with Qi on AT&T?

I took off the quick circle case and purchased the $7 Qi/NFC sticker from amazon, added it to my leather back and it works great. I've had no issues. I have 3 qi pads in my house that I use without problems!

That's great news! I'm gonna give it a go. I ordered a cheap plastic back though since I use a case most times and I'm scared to mess up my leather back.

I found a back with a wireless qi / NFC pre-installed on ebay item number: 201399890149
Anyone tried these out yet? if so how are they?

(also first post woot, but also means I can't post links hence the ebay item mumber -.-)

I bit on this, and it seems to work-- the back was harder to attach than my stock leather one, but once it was on, I had no issues using my old Samsung Qi charger with the back.

When I put the phone back in the (Diztronic) case I was using, that was thick enough that I had to be more careful about how I put the phone down on the charger, but it did work if I oriented it carefully. I was going to try it out with my roommate's charger, but she moved it on me.

I only left it on long enough to verify that it connected and stayed connected, so the real test will be to see if it fully charges overnight or not. I don't really anticipate that being an issue, though.

So I woke up to a fully-charged phone, but at least 2X, it went from a steady green light to a blinking amber one.

I'll try again tonight without the case and see if I get different results.
