I owned S7 edge. When I saw S8, it looked more or less the same. Other than that, FPS placement seriously put me off. Waiting for Note 8. Also was waiting on the result of S8 battery. If it doesn't repeat the Note 7 fiasco, then am going in for note 8. IMO, S8 was a rushed attempt to capture lost ground. They couldn't get so many things in proper place. Hopefully Note 8 will be the real Sammy product for which it is known.

On the other hand, G6 is a great phone in hand. Just came back from new york and the G6 shots really stood out against my D7100. (No zooming plz). Phone camera cannot handle noise yet. :)

What I like about this channel is they don't use opinion. While I was hurt that the V20 lost to the Pixel, I was surprised that the G6 beat it. Here are the results for the G6 vs the S8.

I really like this channel. I wish reviewers would take more pictures of people and children. I think the G6 is one of the best cameras for still pictures and landscapes but for me is not great for people pictures.

Thanks for the heads up. I've never come across his reviews yet and I like watching a lot of comparisons before I jump to a new phone. What a fresh style of review he does. Subscribed

Where's the scientific part? I don't buy it at all - by most accounts the S8 is better than the S7 Edge and the S7 Edge was already better than the G6, so if A > B and B > C, then A > C, otherwise stated as the S8 is obviously better than the G6 objectively.

Also, the Pixel XL is better than the S7 edge as well, meaning it too is better than the G6, which falsifies the first statement made in this video. However, the relative positions of the S8+ and Pixel XL are unknown as of yet, because it hasn't actually been scientifically tested by any trusted parties yet.

I suppose I'm looking for the test results themselves for each category and how it objectively ranks to other competitive devices, in categories such as Exposure and contrast, Color, Autofocus, Texture, Noise, Artifacts, Flash, etc for both still shots and video, with the tests being done by a reputable and objective party with known testing conditions, procedures and results explanation.

This video was much more objective than most, and at least they didn't make the mistake of saying the most accurate lost because it's not as appealing on the phone display, but methodologically it has a lot of question marks and it ignores a huge number of conditions that we'd want to see examined. As an example of it being questionable, aside from the logical error already detailed, it seems like the review site reviews a huge variety of topics, and is not centered on comparing camera capabilities.

For the exact same reason we wouldn't go to TheVerge or MacRumors or Android Police and trust their opinion of one phone over another without external evidence, this is merely a method of getting views based on popular controversy and is not actually a detailed analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of each shooter. That analysis would be what's required to objectively prove one more or less capable than the other, although even the best ranked cameras do have certain conditions in which they can be outperformed by a lesser overall device.

I saw this yesterday and found it interesting. The G6 wins based on the limited three categories they focused on. Most people would disagree especially the Samsung die-hard but when you widen the criteria or just base it off of personal preference, most would go with the S8. Blind tests are the only ones where you can't use personal bias.

Umm, this as scientific as firing from the hip. Only 3 categories and it is all from one photo session at some convention. I liked where the review was going but then it just stopped leaving me with more questions.
