Having had the Pixel XL and G6, personally Pixel XL camera wins for me and my usage. Only time where I miss the G6 is that killer wide angle pics.

Loved this guy's review style and substance, calm, fair, balanced, no over-the-top hype.

I've been leaning g6 but I have a question for those of you who have one, I have always had phones with amoled screens and my daughter has an htc m9 with an lcd screen and I always felt it looked weak and washed out. Can anyone comment on the g6 screen? bright? vivid? visable in sunlight? sharp/pleasing? I know alot of that is subjective but would love to hear any first-hand impressions. Thanks!

Loved this guy's review style and substance, calm, fair, balanced, no over-the-top hype.

I'll comment on the visibility in sunlight. It's great, the best that LG has put out with "new" technology. Also, something really cool about LG software is that if the phone in set to auto brightness, in direct sunlight it'll push past 100%. It'll still read as 100% but it'll be noticeably brighter.

Guys G6 finally launched in India and iam itching to buy it Tom coz 1 day offer of 10k cash back and 64gb memory with hi-fi dac
Mostly buying the blue color
Skipping s8 this year for G6

I think a big reason I like the G6 over the S8 is the flat screen. The 821 is good enough. 4GB of RAM is awesome. The display is amazing. I also really hate touchwiz

"Good enough" just doesn't cut it when it comes to flagship phones. Cutting edge or stay home.

I don't know. The scratches that show up on the back of the G6 (dont have any yet on my naked s8+) would make me think otherwise.

Ah yes, it always comes down to personal preference. I have both I agree that the form factor of the G6 feels better and the fps placement is where it should be. But to the camera is better in the S8. From performance to quality. Plus Samsung Pay...done. My Samsung Gear S3 was hit or miss on the G6 so I couldn't even use Samsung Pay with my Gear S3 on the G6 to make it useful. But I definitely think the S8 and S8+ are overpriced. The G6 price point is a lot more appealing for what you get.

I believe it was Alex on the AC podcast that mentioned on the S8 he was probably going to go back to a pattern unlock instead of messing with that terrible placement of the fingerprint sensor and the inconsistent and vulnerable iris scanner / face unlock. Seems like a major step back and a huge flaw for this phone. G6 seems more appealing imo.

That's only true if that's what matters to you. If tomorrow someone releases a phone with an 840 chip does that make the S8 inadequate?

I'm seriously debating what to do. Two S8's one standard one plus both with the screen tint and the FPS stopped working on my S8+ a couple times that required a complete restart to get it to work again. Feels like to many issues on such an expensive device. Not seeing enough payoff to warrant the price difference.

Slowly the S8+ honeymoon period is wearing off on me, everyday I come back home I pick the G6 and use it majority of the time. May be in a few days time G6 will be my main daily driver again ... Just feels so damn good in the hand.

Hate LG for just putting 32 GB internal storage, I know sd card but c'mon LG need 64 or 128 GB sku as well and next time they should stop with region exclusive nonsense.

I legitimately miss my G6. And after weird crap with my S8+ I may exchange it for one today. FPS sensor quit working on me three different times only working after a restart. Camera blur in low light and a red hue around the entire device. And just the position of the FPS is annoying as crap. And sound is weak compared to my G6.
