LG Optimus L70 factory reset won't work

For a while my phone has been acting funny and slow so I tried to do a factory reset. I'm not sure it goes through completely though, and now my phone is stuck showing the LG symbol. I've tried turning it off and on repeatedly and removing the battery and still nothing works. Is all hope lost or can someone help??
