LG Optimus V as wifi hotspot issues

I am currently using my LG Optimus V as a hotspot for the wifi connection to my desktop. When I configured the security password, I end up having issues with the desktop asking me for the network id. I am real new at this, and unless I leave it with an open (unsecured) connection I can't get the desktop to connect correctly. Where do I find the network key it asks for so that I can secure the connection I have?
