LG Optimus v automatically hangs up phone calls??

Alright so ive noticed when im talking to one person thru a voice call, and i get another call coming, all i see is all i can do is either ignore the person that is calling me or answer. When I answer, im guessing it puts the other person on hold, but like after 10 secs or so, it hangs up both calls.! How can I avoid this? Also how can i hang up one person and not the other. Please help!!

Also does anyone else have this problem?

this issue goes all the way back to the very first vm phone. the service does this. ive never found any setting n any vm phone that gives some user control over this function. on my end,ill get a call while in call,only can answer or ignore. but i can do either. havent had the phone hang up both calls.
