LG V10 - Camera shots! Show us your pictures

Sounds promising. I'm reluctant to try it out given that the manual mode gives me everything I already want. I know ProShot does offer a few cool tweaks(at least it did on the Windows Phone version) that give you control over sharpening and saturation. And the HDR mode is a little more advanced given that it takes three exposures and stitches them together. But I know for a fact that long exposures are limited due to LG locking the APIs down. Can you try some controlled shots using the same manual settings in the stock camera and ProShot app so I can see the differences in the processing?

As soon is I get the time, and figure things out more, I'll do just that an post back here.
I inquired about the advantages of Proshot vs Stock in the comments to an article here, and I got this reply from the developer. Seems he's aware of the issue.
"ll admit, the camera app on the V10 is quite impressive. The advantages of ProShot would be: a sleeker UI, customizable camera modes, customizable aspect ratios, robust timelapse mode, control over JPEG compression, control over noise reduction, control over video bitrate, and maybe a few other things I'm forgetting. The advantage of the LG app is that it can access higher ISOs and longer shutter speeds (LG hid this from third party apps). I know a workaround is possible, so I'm doing my best to figure that puzzle out."

Ok. Control over video bitrate is already available in the native camera app as well but the other things like custom presets and control over noise reduction could be huge if it really makes a difference. I think I'll jump back in because of the developer and how hard him and his team work.

Back at it again. The first nature shots are as natural and untouched as the subject themselves. The next two shots were taken via my cellphone stand and partially handheld(didn't have my tripod with me) stabilized against it and edited in PhotoShop Express. The last pic was edited in Snapseed.uploadfromtaptalk1449801591335.jpguploadfromtaptalk1449801609111.jpguploadfromtaptalk1449801638193.jpguploadfromtaptalk1449801650819.jpguploadfromtaptalk1449801664403.jpg

I like the loneliness of this leaf edited in Pixlr.

Need to turn down the sharpening on the V10 .. i find its too much in most of my shots. i wish there was a manual setting for that

I find the sharpening to be just about right with a few instances with very fine details where the software tries to overcompensate. I may see if ProShot makes a difference there.

I was looking at proshot.. but cant seem to find if it offers sharpening or saturation options
Yeah I know they did in the Windows Phone version which had settings for sharpness, saturation and contrast but I'm not sure if it's there for the Android version. I think they really have their hands full with the Android version because of the hardware differences as well as which devices are Camera2 API enabled and manufacturers not allowing third party apps t9 dive deep into their device ALI's for the camera. That's why I'm reluctant to purchase the app on Android because I know the experience won't be the same as the WP one and I don't want to get the app until it feels complete and not like a series of big fixes. I know the developer and his team are working hard on it.

a few snaps while out this morning.. quality is ok i guess... i just wish I could find a camera app to reduce the sharpening a little bit

Interesting scene on my drive to work this morning. I pass by every day meaning to take pictures.uploadfromtaptalk1449859274447.jpguploadfromtaptalk1449859294565.jpguploadfromtaptalk1449859336680.jpg

Sorry. I'm a dummy. Those options for sharpening and saturation that I found are in Snapseed, not ProShot. My bad.

I find that the wide f1.8 aperture can just completely hit the mark sometimes without much work. The depth of field is gorgeous. Shot in manual with no edits.uploadfromtaptalk1450038005648.jpguploadfromtaptalk1450038105287.jpguploadfromtaptalk1450038122319.jpg

Just got back from D.C. tonight. Ran out of two things: time and battery life.😳 I hope Marshmallow can improve in that area in some way. Using GPS destroyed the battery. Anyway, I got some nice shots. All manual and handheld except for the last three ones. These are also unedited but I'll post some cleaned up pics soon.View attachment 208642View attachment 208643View attachment 208644View attachment 208645View attachment 208646View attachment 208647View attachment 208648View attachment 208649View attachment 208650View attachment 208651View attachment 208652View attachment 208653

Love your pics. The battery life is only thing bugging me with the v10. Coming from iPhone 6s plus. I only got 7.5 hours of use today down to 5% not sure I can live with that.

Thank you much. I find myself charging the spare battery and just swapping them out all day.😳 Not really what I was expecting but what else can we do? I feel like there must be a way to optimize the battery life somehow but fast charging also helps. There are some brief stints when the battery is great but that's every now and again.
