LG V10 Marshmallow Update - When will we see it?

It shouldn't. The phone works amazing on the Lollipop it has.

I agree for the most part. This phone runs way better on Lollipop than I've seen in other non-Nexus phones. I can only hope that LG's take on Marshmallow is this nice.

(The only reason I'd want Marshmallow is for the way they handle SD cards and Doze)

So all Carrier G4 Variants received already Marshmallow, let's hope next up is the V10 before even releasing the G5

Performance does seem marginally better, at times, compared to my G4. Battery life is another story

I'm hearing Verizon doesn't let you "adopt" storage on their Marshmallow implementation on the G4.... they need to stop these "carrier" mutations and allow these phones unlocked like Moto.

For those who aren't the best at tech, what exactly does that mean...doesn't let you adopt storage??

That means incorporating the Micro SD storage as Phone storage (in addition to the 64 or 32 GB internally in the phone). There is a downside in that you can't use other SD cards or the remove that SD card then in the phone.

Hmm I'm still a bit confused on this...so you upgrade to MM, what happens if you have an existing sd card in (like the big one that came with the phone promo).....u can no longer remove it and put it in a different phone?

So does this mean the sd card can no longer be used for backing up and restoring? For my G3 and this phone, I really like being able to do this in case i want to do a factory reset.

You don't have to use adoptable storage, it's just an option and is not on by default.

So if i don't use adoptable storage my sd card will be normal extra storage just like on any other phone I've had?

My phone did 15 updates on various apps last night. Seems like I've only had that happen prior to an android update. Maybe MM coming soon

i too have noticed tons of app updates recently, but i dont know if it is related. One would think if the G5 is coming out on Sunday and is on MM, they would want to update the V10 soon for the added good press

Coming out on a Sunday? Huh?

I'm looking forward to Doze... other than that, i can wait until LG works out the kinks on MM... no hurry... i'm not too comfortable with adoptable storage since i've had sd cards fail on me before lol

This seems like a very long wait for LG to release Marshmallow, even though it has to be adopted by the various carriers. The V10 may present some particular issues that the G4 doesn't. Who knows. This phone truly does perform great with 5.1.1, so the wair for most of us is not a big issue. The main thing is that they get it done right. No bugs. None of the carriers are offering any progress reports (as usual). So we'll just have to wait...patiently or impatiently. Maybe we'll have it before the V11 is released.:p
