Oh cool, the first time I've seen a live cicada! I've seen a lot of their molted shells, but never a live one in my 36 years.

I assume you used a third party app to slow down the motion for this video as LG's default slow motion mode is nothing to get excited about. But this looks great.
Actually no, this was the stock app. Music thanks to random YouTube option. Lol

Well, you kind of got an iterated shot at the end. Lol
Wow well that was impressive for the stock app. I usually shoot in manual at 60fps and then slow the footage down later with Power Director. Lol yeah o have another video I'll post later of me doing a little something underwater.

It does stink a little that it only shoots 720p in slow mo, but 120fps being slowed to 30 (1/4 speed) like I used in my video worked out better than I thought it would. It's not something I shoot a lot of, but may change that. Lol

Fyi, I corrected my typo in the post you quoted. I meant to say underwater. XD

Ok you should try my method of shooting in manual at 1080p@60fps and then slow it down in post trough a third party or even the stock camera app has a quick edit option where you can slow down or speed up parts of a video. Only problem, if I remember correctly, is the video has to be in regular sound recording and not hifi recording option. I'll double check on that.

Edit: Nope I was wrong. Even the stock camera app will allow you to edit hifi recorded videos.

So you only slow down to half speed (30fps) to trade for higher resolution?

Yes usually just half speed but the results are crystal clear footage at 1080p. I suppose you may be able to get away with slowing it down further but I never tried it.

I may look into that, but I know cutting the slowmo (120) down to 1/8x at 15fps looks meh. So I wouldn't want to slow 60fps that far.

Voice commands+rear camera=better selfies. Don't be afraid to use the flash when you need it.
