LG V20 - Camera shots! Show us your pictures

True. I have a month to return for a full refund. I'm not the only S9 user who is seeing this. Close up shots and selfie shots are superb. Dark environment and landscape shots at night are poor. There's lots of noise and it's quite dark compare to the V20. The ISO caps out at 800 and shutter can only be open for a max of 10 sec. I am using the raw file. I feel a firmware update might fix the photo processing.

I also find it annoying that one light touch changes the camera mode or switches to selfie cam. I will take some more shots tonight.

So now you have 2 V20s? Trade-in credits for the S9+?

Oh ok I see. No I actually only have one V20 as I have to send in the damaged one. I think I'm going to wait and see about the S9+. Still considering the V30 as well. But might just keep the V20 and pay it off in the summer and opt for the Jump on Demand plan.

Let me know if you find a setting that keeps the manual controls open on tbe screen rather than disappearing after a few seconds.

I'm swapping the tempered glass I have on. Amazon reviews claim that is the issue to the sensitivity.

There was a camera firmware update so Samsung is well aware of the camera issues. It's much better now but aperture 1.5 has problems focusing at times.

Yeah I saw that as well. Let me know if you see anything significant. I've decided to keep my V20 now. Too close to having it paid off to trade it in. Matter of fact I might pay it off this month, opt into the Jump onDemand plan on T-MOBILE, get the S9+, wait for the Pixel 3 and get that if I like it better or keep the S9+. Or I could even get the V40 too. The only thing with the Pixel 3 is it might be a Verizon exclusive again which means I'll drop whatever I have for a really cheap budget phone so I can get the Pixel 3 unlocked direct from Google and not be paying a crazy fee for two phones. But if I go with Google I'm making a decision to stick with them until the device is paid off since it's unlocked. That was my biggest roadblock to getting the Pixel 2 and I didn't want to commit to that just yet.

I'm waiting for the GCam to ported on the S9 to see if it makes any difference. I wish I had a friend with a V30 to compare the same shots with. If you want just an auto shooter, the Pixel is the way to go. Their photos looks the best compare to the S9+ and the V30. I like having manual settings though.

Yeah that's why keeping my V20 makes sense. I still get my manual mode on the V20 and I get the best auto shots on the Pixel. I'm waiting to see what type of wizardry Google pulls off this year. As far as Gcam it's already been done. Check out Max's video. He only mentions portrait mode but I'm assuming everything else is there as well.

Here lies my old V20. Bruised and battered mostly from repeated drops from shallow pockets or from forgetting I had it in my lap before getting out the car.smh I couldn't use the wide angle lens from the cracks but amazingly the cracks spread out perfectly around the main lens allowing me to still use it in this state.

Certain parts of Maryland already had over 8" on yesterday. I think we might be at 3" or maybe more. And we don't have any sugar so I have to go to the store around the corner so we can get our coffee on with breakfast. It's only right. But only if the conditions are ok. I'm reluctant to get out of bed any way.lol

Well I made it to the store and back. What an adventure. Took a few rear camera portrait mode selfies via Google camera. Rest in manual mode. By the time I got back the snow had already covered my tracks and my car spot. But we're going sledding today. 33 years old and my fist time! Can you believe that. Gotta love the firsts.

I think I can push this phone a little more before upgrading. I think having a brand new fully functioning device has breathed new life into my appreciation for the V20. Made a day out of the snow and being off with the kids. Went sledding for the first time. Made a bootleg snowman for the first time.lol We just had fun. Check out my new video.

The one place where I will absolutely not tolerate lag is the place I live in the most: the camera app. Once again the V20 became unresponsive and laggy during an event I attended tonight. I think I might be upgrading because of this issue that seems to continue to exist when I need the camera to just perform normally. At one point I hit record and the clip didn't start for a whole 5 seconds afterwards. I don't want to wonder if I'm going to miss a shot or moment because the camera app or phone in general decides to just lag or completely lock up on me. Might just be getting the SO tomorrow. Sucks cause I just ordered a Dbrand skin for my V20 two days ago too.
