LG V20 - Camera shots! Show us your pictures

One thing I'll say about the camera is that there aren't enough modes. Samsung has a zillion modes you can download. LG counters with the wide angle and film stuff. So, yes, pros, cons. But does anyone know of stuff that is available for download the way Samsung made many extra modes available?

Foggy day all day yesterday. First three edited in Snapseed. Last two straight from the camera handheld.

Shot this in manual. First one was edited in Lightroom from the raw file:

For comparison, here's the associated jpeg the camera app created from the same exposure.

Do you mind detailing a few of the edits you made in Lightroom? I'm thinking of learning raw editing, but I'm curious how labour intensive this is before I pick it up

This one didn't take too long, maybe about 10 min? I don't remember the order I did things in, but in the basic section of the far right set of options (icon looks like 3 slider controls) I dropped the highlights to minimum, increased shadows +50, cooled the color temp just a hair, and clarity +30. In the Dehaze section, I set dehaze to +100.

In the section with the icon of 3 overlapping circles (don't know the official section name), I went to the Detail selection and chose Noise Reduction 2 (med).

For additional reference, this is what the original raw file looked like before any post editing. This is the same file the camera app used to create its own jpeg, which is then normally discarded unless you select to save the RAW's too. In essence, the RAW file is the digital "negative" and is like a raw steak. The camera app jpeg is like going to a restaurant and having them cook the steak. My edit is like bringing the steak home and cooking it myself.

Basically just take the best shot you can in camera, then play around with the sliders in Lightroom until you get a feel of their effects. Also, not every RAW capable editor works on the V20. For some reason, some apps open the RAW file at 1MP resolution. Adobe Photoshop Express does this, but it's a quirk with the V20. I actually prefer PSE over Snapseed for its color retention, and it worked fine on my G4. Lightroom and Snapseed do read RAW files correctly.

Another North Shore adventure. Anyone know how to rotate files on this forum though? Drives me crazy when it does that.2017-01-15 11.26.22.jpg2017-01-15 11.40.56.jpg2017-01-15 11.44.06.jpg2017-01-15 11.44.41.jpg2017-01-15 11.45.09.jpg2017-01-15 11.47.12.jpg
