LG V20 (Verizon) - Wi-Fi keeps on disconnecting every other minute

I have had a few Samsung Galaxy phones, starting with the GS3 and never experienced any issues with my home wi-fi.
However, due to the battery issue with the Note 7 from Samsung, I decided to give LG a try and really like the V20, except to the fact that the wi-fi disconnects quite often.
My wife has a GS7 from Samsung with AT&T and there are no issues with the wi-fi there.
I can't really picture where the issue is: LG V20 or if this is a Verizon issue.

Any help is appreciated.

give your smart settings a look too. if you have the wifi set to connect every time you're home, the gps may be causing the issue. i had the same problem since google maps puts my home address about a block from where it is.

I guess that's worth a shot, however if the phone is connected to WiFi I'm not sure it should disconnect once its connected because the phone thinks it somewhere else.

Verizon has disabled those settings.

oops. i've had t-mobile for so long i don't know what's standard for other carriers.

wifi may be set up to constantly disconnect if the network is weak or if a stronger network is available also. or it may be set to switch to mobile data if the signal is weak. if any of those are the case, your phone may be overly sensitive regarding signal strength.

Weak signal disconnect would be strange on his home network unless there was an issue with the router.

not out of the realm of possibility. especially if they're using Xfinity. my greatest regret is moving to a neighborhood without FIOS coverage.

The WiFi router signal strength is not impacted by the provider.

When I bought my own router and switched it with the Xfinity provided one, it made a huge difference. Same manufacturer. Maybe I just have a black finger when it comes to electronic anything.

I have the same problem with my LG v20 from Verizon. I frequently get disconnected from both home and work wifi. It immediately reconnects, but it is debilitating for several apps to constantly interrupt the network connection like this.
I thought I had a bad phone, so I returned it to the store within my 14 day window. The replacement is doing the same thing. I've never had a mobile device with such flaky wifi. I previously had a Samsung galaxy, gs3 and galaxy note 4, that never had nearly the problems I have now.

I have been reading a lot on Verizon support forums and elsewhere and I have found other users reporting similar problems. Not sure if Verizon has modified the android Rom to add to this problem, or if this is a genuine hardware problem. To me it feels like a software bug or a missing setting.

I have rebooted my router hardware, tried changing channels/bands, but it doesn't help. It's not a range problem as it can be less than 3 feet from the access point and this can still happen.

Not having these problems on my Verizon V20 (but I am having other connectivity issues that are affected by WiFi)

Check these settings: Go into wifi settings and tap the three dots in the upper right corner. Make sure the following settings are correct.

Keep WiFi on during sleep (on)

Avoid Bad WiFi connections (off)

You may also want to turn off WiFi calling - made a huge improvement in my call quality.

what happened here? got any fix?
I'm having the same prob. but only on my home wifi.
any other wifi at different places I have no prob

I have fIOS gigabit at home, I keep the router on the main floor of the house in the open. Note. I do not use the 5g wifi because the range is not an good as the non 5g wifi. Never loses a strong wifi connection inside nor outside.

Under General settings > battery and power savings > battery usage > ignore optimizations > scroll down to slide bar to right to disable/ignore Wi-Fi.

Working for me so far hasn't disconnected yet since I did this.

Although I don't have Verizon I have the international model.

I've tried all of these suggestions to no avail. Although the battery optimization made sense because wifi appeared to disengage when screen went out.
Its been almost 24 hours of no cutting out since Ive removed GREENIFY
The cut outs were for a split second and caused no issues but I've grown tired of seeing them constantly, but again I haven't gotten any since removing GREENIFY.
I'll keep this posted either way

Edit: greenify wasn't the issue. It's not Infinity either as I had the same issue with Wave. I guess I'll have to let this go for now. I love this phone. It's an audio monster

I'm back still having this issue. My HTC phone is Rick solid and its an old m8. This is such a quality Phone to be having the WiFi cut out like this.
