I don't think that I will buy another LG phone for a while.
Sure they sound good if they have the good Dacs in them and their cameras are top notch but their software leaves a lot to be desired and unless you buy a unlocked one they are filled with a lot of bloat.. I know it can be disabled but still it's still there.
With them moving to being like all the rest of the sealed backed phones, there really isn't any compelling reason to continue buying them.
I have only had one phone that got wet inside it in my entire life and while some folks really need the water resistant type of phone, I don't.. and I have used my phone in torrential downpours too.. I also know that fast charging and great big batteries and phones like my u11 that get 5.5-6 hours of SOT help get through the day, but there is always a nagging feeling that won't go away by not being able to just pop in a fresh battery in a few seconds......
To me I don't like super thin bezeless phones where the screen is exposed on it's sides (curved screens) because you can't really protect them like a perfectly flat screen with metal edges. That is important to me and how I carry my phone at work and everywhere else I go.
The IR blaster is a nice addition, but not critical and the headphone jack really needs to be included, even as good as my HTC u11 is and it's software I still want the capability of having a FM radio inside. The carriers should be forced to have them. Streaming is excellent on my u11, but live radio is excellent on my v20.
I know millions of people are all giddy over Samsung style phones and many here are excited that LG is adapting a similar approach but I fear that in the end they are just cutting off their nose to spite their face going in this direction.
Just my opinion that's all

The problem is everyone is trying to beat Apple. Copying their design and it's become a competition of who can make the prettiest phone. Note 5 sucks, I'll take the Note 4 any day.
Note 5 most certainly does not suck. Have you ever used one?I definitely agree with you there.

The V20 was going the right direction. If they actually remade the V20 with a new 835 processor and dual pixel camera, then it would easily have been one of the greatest phones ever. I honestly don't care for the glass/curves/shiney phones, I'm starting to see a handful of users on the S8 forums feeling the same way after using it, feeling annoyed with the design while everyone else is pretending to be okay with it. Can't say whether LG will be a success in the future but it's their decision. The V20 was the dream phone most had hope for and their dream are going to be crushed, just like when Apple screwed their fans with the removal of headphone jack. A punch to the gut.

Non removable battery = disappointment
I'm buying a second v20 soon as a backup to my current one . I'll be good for a while. Maybe buy the time I need a new phone someone will have another phone out with a replaceable battery.
Probably your right.
I'm not sure who is being asked (what marketing control group) what consumers actually want in a smartphone or even if LG bothers with them, but they aren't asking their core fans that is plainly evident.
Back when the v10 was being leaked there was a real flurry of TV ads that came out in a good number and really got people interested in the v line... Then they just fizzled out.
If LG keeps doing things like this in advertising they will never gain any market share
We can lament the fact that removable batteries are gone till the cows come home and won't change their corporate decisions 1 iota...
It's time to move on to a different phone that gives you the best experience you can get. As much as I like my v20 my u11 is tempering my anger at LG. While my preferences are against glass backs and sealed batteries just like you I've come to terms with them with them and am enjoying the phone more and more everyday. I've stopped worrying about the glass back and am just more mindful on my usage and rouge apps for the battery life.
The v30 users will have to do the same thing.

The G6 is the other flagship. And making one removable and one not would not pay for them.
I did a poll vote and more than half wants it.
Also on the bezel front... ithe Pixel XL has a surface area of 18.15 sq in and a display that is 12.93 sq in, meaning that it has a total of 5.22 sq in of bezels. The V20 has an area of 19.31 sq in with a display area of 13.8 sq in, meaning it has a total of 5.43 sq in of bezels. So the Pixel has "giant bezels", yet the V20 has 4% larger bezels.
There are several phones that are faster/smoother/last longer than LG. Being better than the worst doesn't mean being the best.
Last longer. Haha you wanna bet $100 the V20 will last longer than the Pixel? Look at the Nexus 6P forums and see everyone complaining about battery life. They gotta get a new phone or pay someone to replace it.
A poll of who? How was it conducted?
Again, we're talking software. You keep switching to hardware. We're talking about the quality of the software through time. You said that LG makes the fastest/smoothest of all the phones that you've used. Yet, from what I recall, you've only used LG since the Note 4. That means you've never used a phone that has actually superb software. That's not an insult against LG, it's referencing the selection bias. Yes, LG devices tend to be better performing on the software side than Samsung devices. But almost all devices are.

There mods merged my thread and grouped them together for some reason. But you can see the poll results at the front.
